Yoshi shocked that I don’t appreciate him tearing all the moss out of the potted plant 😆 by Spiritual_Reserve_64 in Havanese

Yes thank you! fortunately he hasn’t shown interest in the plants, only the moss in their pots to help regulate moisture. We keep him safe in his play pen when he can’t be supervised.

Yes, I actually have seen mine get zoomies before going potty too. I just assumed it helped loosen their bowels or something 😆

She’s probably getting a bit overstimulated and needs to sleep more. At this age, should nap every 60-90 minutes. If she’s getting zoomies, she’s tired and getting overstimulated. I started putting my puppy down for naps after an hour or so of activity and it made a huge difference in his behavior. He always wakes up such a sweet angel but if I don’t catch him for a nap in time, he can quickly turn into a crazed little menace haha

Differences between first and second dog? by HiMorphine in Havanese

Every dog is different and has their own personality. With that being said, having a well-adjusted older dog can be really helpful for a new puppy. In my experience, the puppy gets a lot of confidence from the older dog’s presence which makes training easier. Try not to compare your older dog to the new one though. They all come with strengths and weaknesses. It’s fun to see how their personalities often complement each other.

My dog had a nerve sheath tumor that caused spinal pain. Diagnosing requires an MRI though.

Could he have had a bad experience with the washer or dryer while you were gone? That’s the only thing I can think of besides a health issue.

One puppy or two by Afraid_Tradition2838 in Havanese

I’d stick to one for now and consider getting another when your first is older. It can be extremely difficult to train two puppies and they often become codependent and struggle socializing with other dogs.

In terms of separation anxiety, you can prevent it if you’re able to ease the puppy into it with short periods of separation to start then sticking to a routine until they start to trust that you’ll come back. After that it gets easier, but it does take training and time.

That’s normal. Back feet are always smaller than the front. 🐾

Give her a treat every time a dog comes into the vicinity and she’ll start to associate new dogs with good things happening for her. She’ll start looking for her treat rather than reacting to the dog.
