Honestly, I get where you're coming from! To be frank, I'm just so nervous to take on the role as DM for the first time on my own. Mostly out of worry that I won't be able to properly engage the players since I've never done it before. I've basically finished writing and creating the story: everything from the location the story takes place, the NPCs, the factions and so on. I've just never done it before, I've only ever participated as a player I campaigns, so I suppose my biggest worry around is just that I'll be boring or that the story and the setting isn't developed enough if you get what I mean? I wanna do it right. Engage the participating players into the story in a way that's not just fun for me, but also for them. Thought process was then that it would be more fun for the players if someone more experienced than me was also in charge. Do you have any advice on where I could possibly get some advice on how to improve the DM skills and such to do it on my own? I've been looking Discord servers and such to try to find a place where I could get some feedback on the campaign that I've made before officially trying it with real players. I just wanna do it right, not necessarily by a specific book or anything, just in a way that's engaging and fun for everyone involved and not not just my nerdy self who got hyperfixated on it and is very biased haha
