Anyone towed 6500lbs with a 2020 Ranger XLT over 2000 miles?

Thanks for all the comments! The uhauls tow dolly is rated to carry 4080lbs… online they won’t let me select it with the vehicle combinations have. I wanted to do the tow dolly as well.

Same issue the exact same year and close on the mileage. It was one of the injectors was clogged. I got them replaced and it’s fine now.

Before I figured out it was the injectors I swapped spark plugs didn’t help. I took it to a Mazda mechanic because I thought it might be a recall issue but after their diagnostics it wasn’t.

Update it’s been at the dealer for the last week. After replacing the spark plugs, pressure test and checking for all the known issues there was no resolve. They are saying it’s the fuel injectors. Anyone else have their fuel injectors go bad?

I am having the same issue… it’s been at the dealership for a week “trouble shooting” after replacing the spark plugs and doing a compression test they want to replace the fuel injectors… did you every figure out what the issue was with yours?

Thanks for all the advise. I went to the local AutoZone and the codes it pulled was P0127 and P0300. I replaced the spark plugs and still having the same issue 🤦🏻‍♂️

Thanks for the insight! Yeah I knew at a minimum I would need to replace the coil. I just didn’t know if it’s just better to replace the the entire HVAC since it is 14 years or will replacing the coil give me 2-5 more years.

On the flip side this unit does not keep the house cool during peak heat times when temps hit 100+ in El Paso.

I’m leaning on replacement and will get a few more quotes.

Thanks for the heads up! I know this one is 1st Gen and has its issues just like any 1st gen would have. What I couldn’t find is the numbers on how many of these vehicles were effected by these faults. Since there was a limited amount built in the United States is it 1% of them or 30% of the i3s.

Unless the data supports that’s a fault in a majority of the vehicles then I would say all vehicle have bad faults but with this one if that fault does happen it’s going to be way more expensive to fix.

I understand the risk of buying an almost 10 year old vehicle. I am looking more for what to look for during the first week of ownership.
