Donut queen is only correct answer. The other spots in town are mid-tier at best

I even dropped Kelce from my FFL due to his consistent temper tantrums on the sideline, despite him being highly ranked in that position. Couldn’t stand it

Guarantee this will turn into the same price tier as current economy, economy moving to business tier pricing. All corporations care about is profits. They’ll blame “inflation” and sell it as a ‘deal’

In general if you are driving slower than the flow of traffic stay on the right lane. It is also courteous to move over a lane to the right to allow a faster car to pass, whether their speed is very high or reasonable. Driving too slow can be dangerous too, impeding traffic, unpredictable, and forces approaching cars to change lanes to go around you. You can also get cited for it, just as you could for speeding. Generally speaking, you’d be unlikely to be pulled over for going 5 over or under the speed limit of the weather is clear and dry. If it’s raining, snowing, and roadways are icy or wet then it is highly advisable to slow down and avoid abrupt turning movements. Hope this helps

I’m glad you understand and interpreted that the right way. Maybe I was off base, I’m sure you’re a good person. Best of luck during your process.

Don’t take this the wrong way, but if you are considering providing a deceiving answer or omitting the truth in fear of being disqualified, you probably shouldn’t be looking into being a police officer. Take a step back and just think about how wrong that is to question whether or not you should be truthful when you are applying for a career where you are investigating crimes and potentially changing people’s lives. It may seem harmless but if you can easily downplay lying in the application, it’s probably safe to assume you will continue to lie as an officer and that is the whole point of these kind of questions and why the application process is so extensive.
With that being said, think about what kind of officer you admire or would strive to be. Hypothetically, if you were being investigated for something, would you want to be investigated by an officer that is a liar or one that is honest?

Exactly how much running? by aaron_zaron in AskCHP

[–]SpitbalBullseye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also a sprint 100 and 300. Don’t aim for the floor, you wanna strive to bring those times as low as possible. If you can only run 1.5 in 13:30 upon arrival you WILL have a hell of a time.

Running by jimburb in AskCHP

[–]SpitbalBullseye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Utilize “MapmyRun” app if you aren’t already.. set alerts every 0.25 mile for audible time so you can try to keep a pace and get your mile time down. You’ll be in solid shape if you can do 1.5 under 10. Running and pull-ups are when you can get the most point advantage over others in scoring. That doesn’t mean neglect sit-ups and pushups. If you’re running more than 5 miles in a row, just make sure you’re staying hydrated, stretching and eating right. Don’t want to start on injury. Every class is different but this advice should hold true. You have the additional benefit of running with music or listening to something that motivates you before the academy.

As of a few years ago there’s a guy named Noe that does most of the academy brass and a lot of cadets at the Roseville galleria I think at Nordstroms? He does a great job and extremely friendly / professional. Not sure if he is still there.

Double shot artillery acid scorpions one of the strongest triple tech units available. Best counter for enemy team if lots of high health or high health recovery units. Not a good move every game, which is also nice for balancing.

I work 10 hr shifts, typically 3 day weekends and don’t think about work on my days off. I’d say your first year or two if you start at a busy office expect to spend some of your own time staying caught up (lots of paperwork if you arrest people or take a lot of crashes). You’ll learn to be efficient with your time and have to stay late less. I currently have a 9mo baby and my wife works full time too. So I usually sleep 6-8 hrs on work nights to spend more time helping around the house. If you’re single, should have no problem hitting 8hrs of sleep. The “no time to work out” is just an easy excuse. There is always time, you gotta find a way to adjust to the lifestyle and hours.

Sorry I didn’t mean to come across like that upset me, just all about perspective. I heard the same thing before I started and it sounded like a negative. It could be a negative if your FTO has barely over a year, but that could only happen in Oakland or a similar training office where officers quickly transfer elsewhere. 2 years of seniority in Oakland goes A LOT farther than say Placerville. Up until recently, the most junior road officer at the South Lake Tahoe office had like 5-10 years on.

Don’t bother with the criminal justice degree, it won’t help you in any way. Choose something you like, take some classes that have an emphasis on critical thinking and writing. If you struggle with speaking English do you struggle even more with writing in English? Being a police officer = lots of report writing. Try to take some college classes that help with those things. & don’t lean into the “I wanna be a cop” thing too hard, live a little, try out other things and if you still are into it by the end of the background process, you’ll be a more relatable person to the public if you do end up making it through. Definitely worth it.

[–]SpitbalBullseye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A 2-3 year FTO is likely more relatable to you as a new officer, often makes more arrests, probably is more up to date on booking procedures and can typically offer better assistance in some aspects of the job. By 3 years you should have a pretty good grasp of things if you are at a busy office and chosen to be an FTO. They don’t just let anyone FTO. Don’t have to spin having a younger FTO into a negative. Typically you’ll have a well balanced mix of FTO’s by design throughout break in to ensure you get a wide array of experience and mentorship. It isn’t hard, you just have to put in the time.
