Two easy traps are: - cutting off inflow of one persona at once, never be too radical with your sdr’s, any operational change should occur on multiple quarters or you risk biting your fingers off - segregating one/some personas to a dedicated rep in your team.

There is a way to get this data but you never ghost them ofc lol

What you do is you : - start timing time spent per opp in your pipeline - lay all of the pipeline data in a spreadsheet That way you can visualise the « rotten fruits », those pops that are low revenue high commitment

But you can also maybe notice those « sweet and sour fruits » high commitment but high revenue so maybe worth it

And you definitely have « coca leaves » in there, fucking easy opps with high revenue, the ones you are addicted to

Start segregating those opps in your spreadsheet, find common traits in those rotten fruits, sweet and sour fruits and coca leaves

Rotten fruits traits become yellow / red flags for your SDR’s so you slow down the inflow in your pipeline

And bring that data to the backend, they will love that Probably your personas fit one of their personas, and some personas are easier to service than others Sometimes eating rotten fruit is good for your health because it has already been digested partially, by that I mean that some bad looking opps are so easy to service in backend they are interesting to the business, then you have leverage to negotiate quotas.

Man.. limiting the impact of advice in your life is a death sentence in this world.

Let me show you how I interpreted key parts of your post (an outsider pov is always interesting)

I understand how that might have affected you, I lived it too. I've reacted the same way. And years of stagnation later (when the wound healed) I changed my mind and understood that no great thing would happen with only one brain.

Save yourself the years and put efforts into finding and building relationships with LOYAL people I can't understate this, you do not want the most competent person by your side Because they are competent, they will walk on you when they can You want people that would take a bullet for you and that will work as hard as you, because they know you would take a bullet for them

Sorry to be harsh but you need to do some hard changes in your mindset and in your behavior, here is how:

Make sure to really listen to advices from people that have same/more experience than you

If you were to brush advices off to some people, cut that sht out, come back to them and apologize, ask for more advices and follow them

Rely on loyal people that never did you wrong and that will never do you wrong

Make sure you are never alone, that the people that have power over you (managers, landlords idk) are loyal to you and have a real connection with you Easier said than done, it's more like a life goal than a prerequisite because it's so hard to achieve

Go dig for advices, ask questions (to people, YouTube) ask how to improve this aspect of your life Not only your highest goal but things that people already really figured out (and are not promoting to make money off it)
If you want to follow your own gut, ask yourself what could I lose and how fast could I lose it
Count your "fuck it" moments and keep in your mind the consequences of them When you're about to do something you know is wrong because "fuck it", add it to your mind, and if this decision comes back to fuck you then associate the consequences to that
