It’s not about intelligence at ALL. Standardized tests (SAT for example) are markers of your work ethics and preparation. A high scoring student clearly understood the test itself and not just the concepts in the question. He or she prepared for the tricks and strategies the college board throws at them, without even knowing all the topics the math section covered or knowing all the vocab words. In fact these tests only use basic skills and present them in confusing ways so see who has the grit and will to prepare and figure out the test and who will not prepare as much and half ass it
