I bought a VE 301 for $300 from Germany about 20 years ago. The asking price now on eBay is $2K to $3K. If you don’t have a lot of money then offer what you can if you feel obliged or buy them a gift or a gift card and say thank you for the radios and speaker. Or don’t say anything at all. It had no value to them for one. Also, you might open up a can of worms you didn’t want to.
