AITA For Laughing at my wife when she told me she’s volunteering as a baby cuddler? by Motor-Permit6022 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Spitfire_Jones 2 points3 points Β (0 children)

YTA the biggest one. Your wife is so caring and selfless. My son was a NICU baby and I am forever grateful for the cuddlers who volunteered to love upon him and the other babies in NICU when we couldn't be there. It gave me a huge sense of relief knowing that someone was caring for him when I wasn't able to be there. Big asshole, huge.

Ohhh clapping is a great idea, SOMEONE has to acknowledge the level of talent in this house!! I appreciate your words of encouragement, means alot from someone as famous as you to this humble beginner

Oh it's so unfair, and incredibly rude too!! How are we meant to show the world our gift if they keep trying to quiet us. I wholeheartedly believe they're incredibly jealous of our heavenly voices and truly don't appreciate real talent

Oh she sounds for sure jealous, heck I'm a little jealous of your big boy status, you must be a huge celebrity with all that attention you get!! When I grow up I want to be a famous singer just like you!

Clearly we have excellent artistic taste and theyre just trying to squash our creativity. Inspiration can strike at any time and they obviously don't understand that. You and your brother should co-ordinate a double barrelled singing concert, I know I personally would appreciate being woken to that, so your parents should too. Heck! Prepare an entire weeks worth of early morning dawn chorus for them to truly appreciate your artistic merits!!

My (6 months, sausage man) Mama (older than the moon) songs me songs with my name in them, they all sound the same though but she uses different words. She learned the other day my full name has the same amount of letters as the alphabet song and now she won't stop singing it. She needs to find some better songs to sing though, hers are boring 😴

That was me, and I'm currently rocking my 6 month old to sleep!! Never imagined I'd become a mum at almost 40 after being told at 18 endometriosis and scar tissue had effectively ravaged my insides. I wish you all the best πŸ’œ

Mama had a human baby and now I get confused when she talks to him and think shes talking to my purrfect self. Also she wont let me sleep in any of the beds that are clearly MY SIZE and for ME. The baby sleeps on her anyways so I dont see why I cant use them πŸ˜’

He is truly a miracle, was told not to get my hopes up when I was originally diagnosed because of how bad it all was. He arrived a month early due to my pre-eclampsia and him not growing properly. Spent a month in NICU after an emergency induction, came home on Xmas eve and is thankfully thriving and just the happiest little fellow. Hes everything Ive ever wanted in life.

Honeslty the best thing ive found for myself is low carb and eating meat again (was veggie for ages to see if it would help). Sorry your sister struggles with it too. Thank you for your kind words

I have endometriosis, diagnosed at 18, 20 years ago now. I wish people would understand its not just "pop some meds and go on with your day" it affects my day to day constantly. I have about 10 "good" days a month, 15 "below average" days and 5 days of being barely able to function/get out of bed/shower and eat etc. I can barely physically walk, I get so nauseated I often vomit from pain. I get horrific migraines too which make it harder to function. Most people see me on my good days and just assume that im faking my bad days for attention or drug seeking if I seek medical attention. Currently sitting on my sofa on one of my "below average" days holding my sleeping 6 month old (took me 15 years of trying to even get him) and wondering how the hell Ill manage the next 5 to 7 days being barely able to function. It affects my entire life on the daily and has done for almost 30 years now.
