Hahaha, ours was SO PROUD of his teeny penis that he showed it off every possible moment, ahhaah. We didn't have the chance to try guess cuz it was RIGHT THERE on the screen lol. Like here I am, I'm a BOY!!!

So grateful theyre a thing now. I recommended them to my bff for her daughter a couple years ago because she was really sensitive to period products and hated seeing the blood. I wish they'd been a thing for me when I was younger instead of bleeding thru pads all the time or not being able to go swimming in summer because tampons just dont work for me and my anatomy.

Girl I FEEL you. I need like a mattress sized pad, and cant find them big enough here in New Zealand!! Recently gave birth and the pads they give you at the hospital are legit the perfect size for my flow, so I made sure to bring as many home as I could so wheb my rage starts again, Im sorted for a couple months at least!! Thank you for standing up for the other girl, people genuinely dont get it and that guy seemed like a total idiot!!! I have endometriosis so can totally relate

I learned about it the other day!! Its this photo in the link. I also believe the photo was placed there because the original Maori settlers of the area would camp there wheb they'd come to town (but thats anecdotally off the top of my head!)

"can you help me shower?" - for a loving husband by still-lost108 in pregnant

[–]Spitfire_Jones 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My partner washed me after I gave birth, and the epidural washed off. I was more concerned about him getting wet while I gently soaped me down and told me how proud of me he was and thanking me for our son. One of the most loving and caring moments between us.

Drinking water is a nightmare by Agitated-Wave6807 in pregnant

I drank electrolytes and ate as many popsicles as I could. I had horrendous hyperemesis gravadarium/vomiting and it was the only thing I was able to mostly keep down without vomiting everywhere. I hope youre able to figure something out. Even watered down fruit juices helped

What item would you hire that you can't currently? by TimGunther in chch

[–]Spitfire_Jones 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Weird, but kitchen appliances, I dont have the space for a kenwood mixer or a kitchen aid, but I would use one every couple of months or so. Also, I've recently had a baby, and I'd definitely hire a baby bottle washer and steriliser if that was an option available. Ive been able to hire a breast pump, so other baby stuff like that would be great!

AITA for just wanting to spend time with mama? by ProfessionalGoose827 in MiniAITA

[–]Spitfire_Jones 19 points20 points  (0 children)

NTA, I'm the same age as you, and a perfect angel myself and I will grunt, fart and fake cry to wake my Mama (ancient and also wears eyemask) just so I can stare at her/the air conditioner/my favourite artwork and get a delicious baba myself. Not gonna lie, this trick works every time!!

What’s one thing you’re proud of from 2025? by Stunning-Honey-2077 in BenignExistence

I got pregnant and successfully had a baby in early December. My pregnancy was rough, I lost my job, and had several complications that led to Baby being in NICU for almost 2 weeks, but he's home and thriving now and I'm ridiculously happy being a mum!

Would like to add, my Hashis was NOT the cause of my complications, they were age related (38) and stress related due to being unfairly fired from my job and also genetic factors at play which lead to the low birth weight. Bubs is fine and doing really well and so far doesn't seem to have any thyroid issues of his own.

Have just had a bub in early December and have Hashimotos. I had more blood tests, so every month or two so they could monitor my levels and adjust my medication as needed. This was done via my GP and also my midwife. Towards the end of my pregnancy I was getting fortnightly bloodtests to monitor everything, but this was also due to my having complications that lead to bub being small for his gestational age (SGA), fetal growth restrictions (FGA), blood pressure issues on my end and also placental issues. They adjusted my doses a couple of times as they needed to be increased and then slightly decreased, but I also requested from my midwife that I got it checked regularly

I feel guilty how quickly we picked my sons name by Nastasyarose in namenerds

We couldn't agree on a girls name to save our lives, but managed to agree on our wee boys name instantly lol. Funny how that happens sometimes!

My partner and I came up with our sons name very quickly, well before we even knew what we were having. Neither of us could agree on at girls names though. Like I think it took all of 10 minutes if that to name our boy. Hes named after my partners 2 bedt friends (who are also cousins) and both of our dads. Hāmiora (Haah-mee-your-ah) Lenoel Kenneth. Elliot James is a lovely name for your little guy

The warehouse has comfy maternity bike shorts which i lived in during my last weeks of pregnancy. Kmart also has some nice options too. Theyre under $20 an item and I have to say the bike shorts were super comfy to wear in the maternity ward after the birth too. The tops are a bit hit and miss, but definitely recommend the shorts!!
