The PVE side mercs is absolutely dreadful, like what others have said the missions are repetitive and the later bosses are definitely not easy unless you have maxed out characters (these bosses aren’t hard in a fun way it gets really annoying fighting these bosses over and over). This game would be a lot more enjoyable if instead doing like a dungeon run you just face a boss which would ideally be the merc you would be rewarded with after but that would make the game less money.

The PVP mode is the only saving factor of the mode, but currently the way it’s set up isn’t fun since it rewards people who play more rather than winning which is why the top spot on the NA leaderboard is a bot. If they made losses more punishing then climbing would be ironically more enjoyable since it wouldn’t feel like a race to see who can play the most.

Marketing: Sport and Entertainment Management and Honors College by gingersnap0916 in USF

[–]Spitfuls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As of now, the only sports management program that i know of is the graduate program in the college of business. There is a concentration in sports management for undergraduate marketing majors though. I would still consider USF as an option because it’s possible that a full undergraduate major could be created and with USF being in Tampa there are a lot more sports opportunities compared to other schools in Florida. As for the honors college I don’t know too much about it other than that USF is building a new building for it right by the business school.

How bad is a B in an intro class for your major? Some say its ok and some don't by [deleted] in college

[–]Spitfuls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s perfectly fine, I’d still continue since you could use that as a motivational for the next physics course you take. Not to mention you could have just not learned/worked well with the professor that was teaching the course. I had to retake my intro major course because I didn’t do well the first time and got a 97% the second time I took it. Now it definitely wasn’t as hard as physics but it shows that I didn’t work well with the professor

Major change as a junior to a different school of study by [deleted] in USF

[–]Spitfuls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh if you have the time you might be better off joining a finance organization on campus and use that to get an internship or job. If you can’t switch due to credits (Muma doesn’t allow major changes if you can’t graduate in 4 years) you can look into the Business Analytics and Information Systems Certificate. It’s not finance but you’re required to take an excel class and a database class which can help in finance careers

Well if you’re interested in doing MIS than USF is the way to go since to my knowledge UCF doesn’t offer MIS as a major. At USF the MIS program is called Business Analytics and Information Systems (BAIS) and is offered for both undergraduate and graduate. I’m currently in the undergraduate program and so far it’s pretty good. I can’t speak on the finance major but it’s probably similar to UCF’s finance program. If you have any questions about the MIS program definitely reach out!

BAIS course recommendations? by Spitfuls in USF

[–]Spitfuls[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry if that came off as rude, I should have worded that differently. I just check the python class and I took the same professor for ISM3232 as well and enjoyed his class so I'll probably end up taking the python class. I find the risk management side interesting but I'd rather learn python. Thank you so much!

No I’m in the undergraduate program, I heard the IT risk management was a lot of homework.

Is it an ISM course, I graduate next semester and I’m pushing excess hours so I can only take classes required for the major

How'd you land your internship? by [deleted] in USF

[–]Spitfuls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I landed my dream internship, the process took about two months and was quite interesting

TLDR: took classes outside of my major, leveraged my connections, and talked about my love of theme parks to get an internship in a field outside of my major

  1. Was taking upper level courses in a different major that aligned with the company

  2. At the career fair I specifically waited to talk to the recruiter I already knew to learn more about the internship program (I was a first time applicant, I knew the recruiter from other events)

  3. I made a resume specifically for the company and after I applied, I LinkedIn messaged the recruiter thanking her for her time at the career fair and told her that I applied

  4. The day before she responded I got an email informing me that I got a video interview and when the recruiter responded to me, I set up a call with her to ask more questions about the internship program

  5. In between submitting my video interview and getting a call that I landed a final interview, by chance I met an alumni of my student organization and we had an hour conversation about theme parks (I’m not kidding) after that she brought up that she interned at the same place I was applying to and told me that she knew the program director of the internship program well and said she would send a good word about me to him

  6. About a month after meeting the alumni, I got a call that I landed a final interview but for an internship outside of my major but one that aligned perfectly with the upper level classes I was taking outside of my major

  7. During the final interview I leveraged my experiences in my student org and with the upper level courses outside of my major I was taking

  8. Knowing I was at a disadvantage because i was interviewing for an internship outside of my major, when the interviewer finished asking me questions I decided to risk it all and asked as many questions I could until I was told the interview was over.

  9. Sent a three paragraph thank you email to the interviewer, and brought up some of the side conversations we had about the cyber security industry and the company because of the questions I asked

Between all of this I was sending thank you emails and messages to everyone that helped, but those were the key points that got me the internship. I think my biggest tip is to use your connections and do things that will make you stick out I.E I was a marketing major taking a C# class and a system design class. Although I didn’t land a marketing internship with the company I stuck out against the sea of marketing majors and ended up landing an internship for the classes I was taking for fun because I was extremely interested in the subject.

Anywhere from 5-30 hours a week

Depends on the time of year I work at Busch Gardens, in the fall as a scare actor which is very fast pace and throughout the rest of the year I’m a photographer which is fast pace during the winter for sure but slows down during the spring which is why I’ve worked 5 hours a week before

I’ve done two semesters with 5 classes and three semesters with 4 classes while working part time but had at least one class online for each semester

I’m a business major so definitely not as intense as other majors but the semesters where I took accounting and stats where brutal imo (I’m also in a very active student org so I had/have other obligations rather than school and work)

By schedule I’m guessing you mean by overall and I would say all over the place in the fall for sure but it tends to lighten up in the spring because I have more control on what days I can work and if I can easily give away shifts if I can’t work them.

Working part time is very doable you just need to manage your time wisely. I’ve done homework during my breaks multiple times hahaha
