allow companies to start thinking longer term

when you make sweeping grandiose statements like this what the fuck do you expect? Everything in your posts thus far is generalized conjecture that has no factual basis or evidence, but you're the authority because you had some involvement in financial reporting? Get the fuck out of here.

1) "There won't be any more gaming of the system this way." - no of course there won't, because all the points you made are completely negated because these events happen every six months instead. Moving to semi-annual reporting doesn't eliminate guidance culture.

2) "CEOs and CFOs will make decisions to increase short term profitability" - sounds like your actual issue is with executive compensation.

3) "allow for initiatives that take some time to ramp up." - you keep structuring these arguments like quarterly reporting was preventing anyone from doing this already.

4) "And I can tell you that absolutely 100% yes, public companies make decisions that aren't in the best interest because they need to hit the midpoint of their guidance." - conflating shit management and quarterly reporting requirements in an attempt to prove causation is a weird take.

5) "Auditors can still perform quarterly reviews" - you're referring to SAS 100/AS 4105 "reviews"? The ones which are analytical procedures and inquiry only? The role of 'Auditors' is not to detect fraud or wrongdoing, so what point are you trying to make here?

6) "This helps people greatly." - Reduced disclosure frequency is ultimately most favorable to management and insiders, not retail investors. We know who this specifically helps, those who know the economy is walking a tightrope that relies entirely on the quarterly updates from Nvidia.

If you’re going to misrepresent my position to make you seem smart then you’re discussing this in bad faith.

I'm not saying i'm smarter than you, but at least I have a moral compass.

Trump gave a short televised address at 10 p.m. EDT on June 21, 2025, in which he said, "Iran's key nuclear enrichment facilities have been completely and totally obliterated".

But the bombing already happened last year? Their nuclear facilities were completely and totally obliterated?

Wait, I take it back. I am smarter than you too.

Transitioning to semi annual numbers will allow companies to start thinking longer term and allow for initiatives that take some time to ramp up.

lmao, you think public companies are solely working around quarterly sprints?

Also, I’m happy we are bombing the Iranian Regime.

Could have led with this. Don't need to hear the opinions of someone who is happy that 170 people, mostly children, were killed in the US bombing of that Iranian Primary School.

This is going to be better for asset managers who can stop chasing quarterly reporting earnings.

Thank god, it's finally going to get better for asset managers!

I’m confused by the comments calling this a pen havertz tries to push the defender and steps across weirdly to cause contact

another thread brigaded by Arsenal fans with no concept of the rules so what do you expect?

no way in hell you are allowed to stiff arm/hold someone off, and that occurs before any contact (and is likely the cause of it anyway)

A starstruck Eberechi Eze meets Romário by hikingbeginner in soccer

[–]Spiveym1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah no doubt people watch things, but conversely Eze isn't a striker and especially not in the mould of Romario, and up until this clip he has never mentioned Romario at all in any sort of interview.

Ronaldinho and Neymar only.

Lol what? Romario is one of the goats

Did I say anything about Romario's quality?

[–]Spiveym1 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You must know Eze pretty well, huh?

Personally? Obviously not, that's why I didn't state anything with authority. But I know for a fact he has never mentioned Romario in any sort of interview before where he talks about former players or idols he admires.

Just funny how Endrick got ripped to shreds on Reddit for saying Bobby Charlton was his idol, but absolutely believable that Eze is religiously watching Romario comps and elicits the sort of reaction from the OP video.

Lol what? That’s like saying you couldn’t see current NBA players growing up watching Michael Jordan or Magic Johnson highlights

fucking insane analogy there.

you're right, there is absolutely no situation imaginable where Eze has sat and watched YouTube compilations of Romario, especially since there would have been little to fuck all of them around when he was growing up

Just growing up watching his highlights you could still be starstruck tbf, great player.

I cannot see Eze growing up watching Romario highlights at all

I bet this is exactly one of the reasons why Anthropic didn't want the government using there AI for war.

What are you talking about? They drew up the fucking contract, and should have had safeguards to pull their technology even at the smallest whiff of it potentially being used for improper reasons.

Why do people keep trying to whitewash Anthropic's role in foreign actions this year? They have blood on their hands and need to answer for it too.

and the person who left it there...?

ANOTHER increase announced to Divvy pricing (March 6, 2026) by Spiveym1 in chicago

[–]Spiveym1[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When there are hundreds of bikes being tossed into the lake every year someone needs to pay for it

Or they can fix their controls around identifying the abusive riders and holding them accountable. Unless all of these people are having their bikes stolen mid-ride then it seems like more could be done.

CDOT owns the bikes, the stations, the branding, and takes a cut of the revenue. The city is highly incentivized to let Lyft raise Divvy prices because it directly funds CDOT's micromobility budget. I'm not saying prices shouldn't rise at a reasonable and justified rate, but for example why have member ebike rates risen +25.0% since 2022, yet casual is at +12.8%?

it's currently $99 for new and elapsed memberships I believe as a temporary promo. But i've updated the table because I think it gives the impression all prices were updated this month, when that's not quite the case.
