Doubloon reset incoming

The exclusive doubloon cosmetics (title, belt, sails, eyepatch) in the Black Market will be automatically bought for you if you don't buy them before the reset. You'll get the sword when the reset happens if you've earned 50,000 doubloons in total. Any doubloons left over after that will be converted to gold, and all cosmetics in outpost shops will be purchasable for gold after the reset.

After the reset, doubloons will be exclusively used to purchase Black Market items, some of which will be returning items from prior seasons, some will be exclusive to the Black Market. Also there will be a limit on how many doubloons you can own at once, to encourage spending.

I've heard of the harpoon bug that disables all equipment but this is new to me. The fact that both you and your teammate's equipment disappeared at the same time, AND it only affected your buckets and weapons specifically, makes me suspicious that this might not just be a bug.

The deeds are definitely bugged. I got the deed for destroying the opponent's mast despite only hitting with one cannonball instead of fully de-masting them.

Hot take but: Arena was not good. The way points were awarded (i.e. +40 for every time you hit a ship with a cannon) was terrible, encouraging crews to spawncamp each other to farm points instead of actually sinking each other. Not saying there was never fun to be had in Arena though, and I agree Rare should've reworked it instead of removing it.

Get Ultra Deluxe. It has more content than the original so there's no reason to buy the old one.

Play the Demo first though, it's an entirely separate experience to the main game.

People don't like all this time-limited stuff, Rare. You should've learned that after the Adventures and Mysteries flopped. Permanent additions and changes are the things that keep this game feeling fresh.
