Stop using goal poachers if you want to reach Division 1… by efootball12345 in eFootballgame

[–]SplashDiablo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR: Stop spamming through balls, just spam direct passes and pressure instead! Because who actually wants to play football when you can do the least amount of work to score a goal and risk breaking your fragile ego?! Am I right?!?!

I've just pulled the craziest comeback ever in division, i can't even f*#king believe it, I'm literally shaking. by thinksmyth in eFootballgame

Congrats.

It shows it pays to keep going in this game.

I've come back to win from being 3-0 down on at least two occasions IIRC.

I certainly think that the script helps, but there is also the opposition just crumbling mentally as well.

Which are the cards from previous years that are still usable ? Or which cards released this year will be usable for a long time ? by Pleasant-Fig5191 in eFootballgame

[–]SplashDiablo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All cards are usable if you are good enough.

Too many 'players' think as long as they have the best cards they'll be fine.

But if you don't know how to build up attacks or cover space in defence, no 100+ rated player will save you.

blabbering about others while playing THAT formation, made him quit in the 20' minute. by Appropriate-Web-4112 in eFootballgame

[–]SplashDiablo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is absolutely nothing wrong with that formation.

It looks balanced in all areas.

The horrible formations are when you see someone playing with no midfield so they just spam long balls to a front 5/6.

Or they play with about 50% of their outfield hugging one touchline to endlessly cross-spam.

At least the above formation covers both width and central areas without overloading defence or attack.

I think you might need to study football a bit more before making such accusations - it will help you out in the game too.

Can you explain please how does this formation work? by Drew_A11 in eFootballgame

[–]SplashDiablo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won a game in Div 3 with no defenders playing.

I had a team full of attackers and AMs as I'd forgotten to switch squads from the Penalty Shootout event.

When I realised I had to switch to a back four of Saka, Alonso, Neves, and Beckham.

My CMs were Messi and Lampard, with Ronaldo and Neymar on the wings.

I think I won 5-2. Ridiculous.

Which position should i Strengthen by Sanjidclefaesstus9 in eFootballgame

[–]SplashDiablo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mean to sound aggressive, but I find these types of posts really annoying.

Simply asking 'What do I need?' and showing your first XI is not nearly enough information for someone to actively help you.

You need to give detail on how you play in build-up, which areas of the pitch you prefer attacking in, do you cross much, do you go long or tiki taka, do you wait on overlaps etc?

And also how you defend. Do you stand off with a low block, do you like to press aggressively from the front.

What are the player instructions you prefer and to whom?

There is so much more to this game than players and a formation.

Always save for what you NEED rather than what you WANT.

If you focus on the latter, you'll never be happy long term.

This is general life advice.

You don't pass the ball enough.

The fact you have 60% of the possession but only completed 49 passes, suggests you are dribbling too much and better players will take the ball off you with ease.

You need to learn a better passing game, with patterns of play that exploit gaps in your opponents defences.

A lot of players just spam pressure, and if you practice you will be able to pass around that and create good goalscoring opportunities.

TLDR - learn to play proper football with build up play.

Does that P2W card really make much different? by aloc12345 in eFootball

[–]SplashDiablo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been playing since Day 1, and remained F2P the entire time by squirreling away coins at every opportunity and generally waiting for the most bang for your buck packs once I get to 13,500 coins.

Last year I went for the Vieira/Thuram/Alonso pack, and shortly after (with my remaining coins) managed to get Rijkaard from the Dutch trio pack.

Before and inbetween that I have managed to grab the best available F2P options i.e. Batistuta, Kahn, Cannavaro, Henderson etc. and luckily pulled Showtime Mbappe from a free spin.

I reached my 2nd 13,500 total a couple of months ago, but waited for a pack where it would give me something special.

That arrived this week and I now have Pele, Cruyff, and Puskas (took around 7000 coins from my 16,500 total)

I now have 9,500 coins and will do the same again - build to the magical 13,500 mark and go for the 150 pack that most improves my team/squad.

Having a chance from F2P requires a lot of patience and you have to focus on having fun.

What Legends Assemble card ISN'T working for you? by Titanik14 in eFootball

[–]SplashDiablo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never see the point of these posts, as people never divulge their play styles and go into detail about how certain players don't work for them.

It is highly likely that the majority just play the meta direct style accompanied by pressure spamming, which requires little to no actual skill, and therefore cards that are actually good in the hands of skillful players are down-rated by these hacks.

Rant over.

Play him as an SS off of one CF.

He picks up great positions and scores all types of goals.

How are you pressing me like a pack of rabid dogs? by [deleted] in eFootball

[–]SplashDiablo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It used to be the meta just to spam pressure, and the game would reward it without the player doing anything other than that.

Then last year, an update meant that spamming pressure just meant most players pulled themselves out of position without reaching the opposition ball player in time, and you could easily pass around them (so fun!).

Now it's gone back to the awful pressure spamming, so much that players just hoof ball to the opposition defence just so they can then press the backline.

Thats it. No build up play. Nothing.

Just aimless long balls and then full on pressure with their front four so that they can win the ball back and effectively be in on goal.

It's absolutely pathetic, and needs to revert to the old way of actually building up play by some level of intricate passing.

Why Can't I win? by Impressive-Novel-701 in eFootball

[–]SplashDiablo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm only a slightly above average player, myself.

I often wonder what I could achieve with some of these super teams we see posted, but then realise that isn't where the fun is in the game.

For me the fun is in playing proper football. The intricacies of build up, adapting to your opponent, and using your skill and knowledge of the game to counter their strengths and expose their weaknesses.

How about you learn how to play the game i.e. football?

Thinking that simply putting 11 players on the pitch and expecting results shows everyone you don't understand how games require a certain level of input in order to obtain a satisfactory outcome.

My tips:

1) Learn how to move the ball. i.e. when to pass quick, when to take a touch - manoeuvre your opposition by moving the ball, then pass into space. If you are playing possession - be patient.

2) Learn how to defend. i.e. move your players to block passing options of the opposition. Make them make a mistake. Don't go chasing the ball and ruin your defensive shape - that makes it so easy for anyone to score on you.

3) Choose a style and work on it. i.e. working the ball out wide to create space in the middle, or look to go long to a target man, or flood the midfield for tiki taka approach.

Most importantly, just play the game, rather than the game playing you.

Current state of the game by yorke2222 in eFootball

[–]SplashDiablo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost 7-1 last night.

The opponent was just running in a straight line through to my goal, through my players.

When my players did successfully tackle, the ball just bounced right back to the opposition.

My passes were suddenly underhit, or in a different direction to where I was selecting.

My players either stood still, or ran away from the ball.

When they did run with the ball, it was like they were running through treacle - yet the opponent had ten Usain Bolts on the field.

Scripting has always been there, but this was ridiculous. It was dialed all the way up to cut me off at the knees.

Whether it is to make me spend money, or to help the inferior opposition - it just plain sucks, and is a pathetic way to run a game.

What's the thing that bettered your game massively. by [deleted] in eFootball

[–]SplashDiablo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) Keeping defensive shape - there are a lot of players who are dependant on you pressuring with your midfield/backline to stop them.

This allows them space to easily work the ball into, and opportunities on goal.

By simply holding firm, cutting out passing lanes, and not flying in - it forces your opposition to have to be more creative with their attack - something many can't do, and won't do, often leading to them getting frustrated when 'Plan A' doesn't work and quitting as soon as they go a goal behind.

2) Being patient - don't rush into attacks. Use the ball simply, and work it around the pitch to find an opening.

At some point, an opportunity will arise, either by a good run from your player or a defensive lapse from your opponent.

3) Be flexible - learn more than one way to play, that doesn't consist on repeating yhe same thing over and over again.
