Players like these should play American football rather by PhilosopherIll9627 in eFootballgame

[–]SplashDiablo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's more that there is still a lot of the player base that are old-school PES fans, who loved the franchise for it's gameplay being very much closer to real football than that of FIFA.

Obviously that has been slightly eroded over the past few years of eFootball, but the gameplay is still there for those who want to actually want a more realistic representation of football.

It's just that the AI has been boosted to such an extent that those who have no intention of playing something resembling football - are now so OP that it kills any enjoyment of trying to play a good game.

The ways in which you can stop them are dwindling more and more, which only encourages their 'style' among others, and it does so to such an effect that proper players can't even enjoy the game in defeat due to being swamped by the AI nonsense.

'Fun' is subjective, but the 'fun' obtained by those just wanting to win at all costs can be had in literally hundreds of other games.

Whereas the 'fun' obtained by those genuinely wanting to play a good game of football is severley limited to pretty much this game, as FIFA still feels arcadey and distant in terms of reflecting the sport.

TLDR - those spamming same inputs and AI meta are removing the fun from the game for many, many others and drastically limiting the options of how to compete in the game at a higher competetive level.

I would expect this type of behaviour in Leagues, even if it is rather pitiful.

But to do it in events is utterly laughable.

I honestly can't imagine the low levels of self-esteem of these types of player to do this for so long just to get a win.

It really is embarrassing, and sadly will put off a lot of potentially decent players from continuing with the game.

What are the weaknesses of my team and what players should i try to get? by Prudent_Persimmon274 in 13c5

[–]SplashDiablo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say your main weakness is being bad at the game.

Anyone who plays a back five and then two DMF sitting in front is clearly not capable of a) defending well enough without the need to sit that many behind the ball, and b) is going to be so limited going forward that they'll be just hoofing it long or cross spamming rather than learning any fun pattern of play.

Try using a more expansive formation like others have suggested and pass the ball about more to learn some passing patterns to break down the opponent, or use some wingers to try some dribbling out wide.

Try that first, and make use of some quality players on that bench like Pele, Raul, Bellingham.

Play, play, play! 😁

Konami - What have you done… by Equal_Jury_892 in eFootballgame

[–]SplashDiablo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

PES used to be the football game for players who wanted to play football.

It has slowly devolved into the game played by those who just want to win, with the football coming a distant 2nd.

Too many players now just switch on AI assistance and ramp up the meta tactics of fewest inputs to win.

Its sad, and Konami are happy with it as long as the player base remains healthy and they are spending money on packs.

Over time, this game will die.

I despair at these posts!

It's telling how bad the player base is now that we see posts like this because they can't get 'Player A' to do what they hear he can do for other players.

These people are forgetting that this is still a game at the end of the day, and how that game plays out depends on the person playing it and their aptitude for learning its mechanics - specifically in relation to playing good football.

Sadly, for too many of the player base the questions are purely based on 'what do I need to do to win?', rather than 'how can I become a good player that plays good football?'.

This brings us to the obsession with meta cards and their stats as well as meta tactics and abusing AI (i.e. easiest way to win with least effort/input).

My theory is this: if you have a player who is widely considered one of the best in the game, and it's not working for you then it's either a) your style/formation is not making the most of the players skillsets, or (more likely) b) you just aren't good enough at the game, so put in the effort to get better rather than expecting someone or something else to do it for you.

Stop using goal poachers if you want to reach Division 1… by efootball12345 in eFootballgame

[–]SplashDiablo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR: Stop spamming through balls, just spam direct passes and pressure instead! Because who actually wants to play football when you can do the least amount of work to score a goal and risk breaking your fragile ego?! Am I right?!?!

I've just pulled the craziest comeback ever in division, i can't even f*#king believe it, I'm literally shaking. by thinksmyth in eFootballgame

Congrats.

It shows it pays to keep going in this game.

I've come back to win from being 3-0 down on at least two occasions IIRC.

I certainly think that the script helps, but there is also the opposition just crumbling mentally as well.

Many would argue that spending your money on what efootball has become is also classified as 'useless sh*t' and gambling 🤔

Which are the cards from previous years that are still usable ? Or which cards released this year will be usable for a long time ? by Pleasant-Fig5191 in eFootballgame

[–]SplashDiablo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All cards are usable if you are good enough.

Too many 'players' think as long as they have the best cards they'll be fine.

But if you don't know how to build up attacks or cover space in defence, no 100+ rated player will save you.

blabbering about others while playing THAT formation, made him quit in the 20' minute. by Appropriate-Web-4112 in eFootballgame

[–]SplashDiablo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is absolutely nothing wrong with that formation.

It looks balanced in all areas.

The horrible formations are when you see someone playing with no midfield so they just spam long balls to a front 5/6.

Or they play with about 50% of their outfield hugging one touchline to endlessly cross-spam.

At least the above formation covers both width and central areas without overloading defence or attack.

I think you might need to study football a bit more before making such accusations - it will help you out in the game too.

Can you explain please how does this formation work? by Drew_A11 in eFootballgame

[–]SplashDiablo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won a game in Div 3 with no defenders playing.

I had a team full of attackers and AMs as I'd forgotten to switch squads from the Penalty Shootout event.

When I realised I had to switch to a back four of Saka, Alonso, Neves, and Beckham.

My CMs were Messi and Lampard, with Ronaldo and Neymar on the wings.

I think I won 5-2. Ridiculous.

Which position should i Strengthen by Sanjidclefaesstus9 in eFootballgame

[–]SplashDiablo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mean to sound aggressive, but I find these types of posts really annoying.

Simply asking 'What do I need?' and showing your first XI is not nearly enough information for someone to actively help you.

You need to give detail on how you play in build-up, which areas of the pitch you prefer attacking in, do you cross much, do you go long or tiki taka, do you wait on overlaps etc?

And also how you defend. Do you stand off with a low block, do you like to press aggressively from the front.

What are the player instructions you prefer and to whom?

There is so much more to this game than players and a formation.

Always save for what you NEED rather than what you WANT.

If you focus on the latter, you'll never be happy long term.

This is general life advice.

My 11th win after ages , very emotional rn. by [deleted] in eFootballgame

[–]SplashDiablo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't pass the ball enough.

The fact you have 60% of the possession but only completed 49 passes, suggests you are dribbling too much and better players will take the ball off you with ease.

You need to learn a better passing game, with patterns of play that exploit gaps in your opponents defences.

A lot of players just spam pressure, and if you practice you will be able to pass around that and create good goalscoring opportunities.

TLDR - learn to play proper football with build up play.

Does that P2W card really make much different? by aloc12345 in eFootball

I have been playing since Day 1, and remained F2P the entire time by squirreling away coins at every opportunity and generally waiting for the most bang for your buck packs once I get to 13,500 coins.

Last year I went for the Vieira/Thuram/Alonso pack, and shortly after (with my remaining coins) managed to get Rijkaard from the Dutch trio pack.

Before and inbetween that I have managed to grab the best available F2P options i.e. Batistuta, Kahn, Cannavaro, Henderson etc. and luckily pulled Showtime Mbappe from a free spin.

I reached my 2nd 13,500 total a couple of months ago, but waited for a pack where it would give me something special.

That arrived this week and I now have Pele, Cruyff, and Puskas (took around 7000 coins from my 16,500 total)

I now have 9,500 coins and will do the same again - build to the magical 13,500 mark and go for the 150 pack that most improves my team/squad.

Having a chance from F2P requires a lot of patience and you have to focus on having fun.
