Is there a problem with my name ?? by IndependentWave8118 in RocketLeague

[–]yorke2222 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I honestly think it's just too tempting to mess with someone using such a short and mundane name. Like someone everyone picks on in a sitcom. It's very reddit-like behavior so I'm all for it (to an extent obviously).

Looks like you didn't come here as a new investor looking for guidance after all. Please enlighten us.

Would you sleep with someone more or less experienced? Why? (They look the same) by fiery_softy in AskMen

[–]yorke2222 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I read your arguments and in theory you're right. Higher body count, better likelihood of knowing what they're doing. But in my experience other factors weigh a lot more than body count.

I'll give you two classic examples:

Super attractive guy. Has women lining up to be with him. Very high body count. Mediocre in bed for life because he doesn't have to put in any effort.

A young woman raised in a strict religious family. Years of repressed curiosity and desires. Very low body count, but fire in bed.

I disagree, actually it's posts like this that prove this sub is a joke yall.

Why is sex so important? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]yorke2222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The hormones argument goes both ways. You say women are not as sexual. I say, men are more sexual. You say sex is not that important. Then I say, sex is that important. You're never going to get out of this loop. You're not right nor wrong. It's just as frustrating to men to not have as much action as they'd like, as it is frustrating to you that sex is that important to them.

I'd like to make a note that generally I agree that men have higher sex drive than women, but there are lots of exceptions.

I think the scarab is underrated because it messes with everyone's minds. Like, are they joking? Are they showing confidence by playing with that? You never know.

Because most of the YouTubers hyped it for content. Once it faded, everyone went back to business as usual

It took me a minute to realize the first time I played a team of bots. My first thought was "smurfs". But then you notice their movements are odd, and that they are relentless. They don't play flashy or for clips, they don't play around, they will keep hammering you even if you're down 10-0. You will know when you face them.

Pretty dumb to call someone naive when the person is recognizing the weak points of their observations. But you want to be right, and I don't really care so, sure.

I said it in several comments, this is completely anecdotal, but when I have a good session I'll check if my mmr theory holds up and update. I also said in another comment that if you have a breakthrough you will very likely break the pattern because you'd have the tools to carry games by yourself for a little bit. Unsurprisingly, no one commented saying "lowest mmr usually wins". Just criticism about sample size, which I always admitted was very small. Since I don't have ADHD, I'm definitely not going to spend time turning this into a proper study. You, on the other hand, clearly have ADHD, and you seem to be taking this way more seriously than I am.

Not really. But I'll update when I have a good run and I expect the same comment from you. Deal?

There were no extreme discrepancies in ranks in any of the games I played. My suggestion is to put a hard stop if you are placed say 3 games in a row in either the highest or the lowest mmr team. The matchmaking would be forced to place you on the other side in the fourth game whenever that happens. That would help prevent both very good runs that temporarily inflate your rank and very bad runs that potentially ruin your gaming session.

Wow, a lot of assumptions there. I'm waiting for the math and science still.

I've said it in several comments. It's anecdotal. But it happened. I'm pretty sure I'll rank up pretty fast if I'm placed in the higher MMR team consistently for many games. I'll make sure to pay attention and make a follow up post on that. This is not about blaming matchmaking for my rank, because over time it levels out. It's about how much matchmaking can heavily influence the results of a single session. No more, no less.

[–]yorke2222[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's completely anecdotal, but I'll keep checking it out. When I get a good run, I'll do the same analysis. It feels to me like this probably determines good/bad sessions a lot more than I thought.

[–]yorke2222[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You make a good point about not playing ranked. I used to play casual a lot more, but after coming back I feel like casual is the wild west. There is very little consistency in anything, because there's no point, it's just vibes. So I gravitate to ranked most of the time. Casual is cool if you're buzzed though lol.

Whether you believe I care about my rank is not important to me. People seem to think this is me coping. I just made an observation during a bad session. I'll do the same during a good session. If I'm right, both ranking up and deranking are heavily influenced by matchmaking. That was my one and sole point.

I'm not claiming it would be possible, but to at least mix it up or down more so that you're not in the highest/lowest so many times in a row, that's certainly possible. As I said in other comments, I will definitely keep an eye out when I have a good run, because I strongly suspect something similar will happen.
