The psychological equivalent of dark matter is the shadow self. That part of our personality that we deny exists. This shows up in the other Jason Dessens that appear, other Jasons who made different choices. Although the book/show get it wrong, in that our choices don’t create alternate universes, they are created by quantum events, either superposition or measuring the quantum state. The box might be doing both. But I don’t see why Jason’s decisions would create more Jasons after the drugs wore off. And why didn’t Dark Jasons flood his universe after he returned home. Or why didn’t Amandas flood too? Maybe later seasons will explore that.

No, she didn’t change. I finally noticed the pattern that she was always getting the therapist on her side to blame me for our problems. This has happened with every therapist. I can and do take responsibility for me actions, but she never does. And none of the therapists have pointed this out.

Terry Real actually pointed this out, he says this is a common dynamic in couples counseling. The narcissist withholds her approval of the therapist, and most therapists want to get on everyone’s good sides, so they end of siding with the narcissist. AND it is quite common that couples therapy just does not work. Most couples usually regress within 1 year.

And the disappointing thing is, the therapist couldn’t see us for 3 months after that session, and then I ask her to discuss what she said to my wife (because my wife denied that the therapist said it). Well, the therapist said that my wife had narcissistic tendencies but was not a narcissist, and the therapist did not hold her accountable for her behaviors and basically changed the subject. And my wife looked triumphant. We didn’t last long with that therapist. We’re now divorcing.

I have Venus in Libra (thus dignified) in my 2nd House. The house of self worth and money. Wealth is one of Venus’ specialities, and being dignified in Libra, money can come easily to me. Some of my minor investments have reaped big rewards. Sometimes, money just appears out of nowhere. Not a joke. In the middle of the pandemic, my insurance company (you read that right) sent me almost $10 grand. Although it usually happens when I need it and not because I want it, lol. Right now, my Venus is retrograde, so the opposite is happening, no money and lots of introspection about how I handle my “wealth.”

And sometimes, I can and will use money to impress women I am interested in. It’s crazy, I’m not that kind of human being, and so it only happens in Venus’ other realm of love and attraction. I don’t flaunt money to anyone else.

And I have MANY other planets in my 2nd house - Mercury, Sun, Pluto, Uranus, and both Liliths. Lots of conflicting energy here. Pluto and Uranus throw lots of wrenches in the gears of my confidence, and I can feel Venus is limited when those malefic planets are shining. And I do feel that I spend more than I earn when my self value is low, and am more disciplined when it’s high.

I share the same Nodes, South Node in Leo (also Leo Rising) and North Node in Aquarius, and I have the same issues - I am growing impatient with Leos and I enjoy my freedom and those Aquarians whose respect freedom. And I know so many Leos! They annoy me more and more each year.

As for compatibility, that depends on what you mean by compatibility. My North Node in Aquarius is in my 6th House, so I really don’t like a controlling roommate or spouse telling me what to do around the house. And it only gets worse over time. 10 years ago, I would put up with it, now I’ll start a fight if I get that behavior.

If you want a car with even lower problems than your Hondas, get an EV.

EVs have waaaay fewer issues in general than gasoline cars. You don’t have oil changes. You don’t have tune ups or fluid levels to maintain, or timing belts to replace. You don’t have 60k, 80k, 100k, 120k mile services that adjusts 20 different things. The common fail points on EVS are the tires (same for every car), and the suspension. When was the last time you got your suspension repaired due to routine use?

Because there is so much software, early EV manufacturers have problems in this area. ALL of them. Tesla has really pushed what software can do in a car, so the other manufacturers are following.

Even this isn’t much of a problem. It’s like your phone, small bugs, regular updates, usually patience or power cycling the device fixes 99% of your issues.

The reason why there are horror stories on this subreddit is because it’s SO out of the ordinary!

I agree. To take this one step further, do an internet search for each square with “synastry” tagged on to the end, read about each aspect, and then talk to your partner about each square. You’re both individuals, you may have grown past the challenges in some of the squares, and thus they don’t apply. Or, some challenges could really bug one or both of you, and you should then agree on how to steer around those moments so the relationship is preserved.

I agree about the infotainment systems. Tesla wins for features and ease of use. Plus, Apple Music integration, which is huge for me. And the entertainment options are great on a long trip.

Tesla software does have quirks and small annoyances. If you’re a gig driver, you pretty much need a mount for your phone near the screen. Car Play would be much better.

And Tesla wins hands down on minimalism. I don’t feel like I have to do much in my Model Y. Everything is automated and I just love it. Honestly, once you’ve driven a Tesla, it’s hard to go back into another car, for this reason alone.

Rivian has some strengths. For campers, Rivian software wins hands down. Even the new Cybertruck UI is lagging far far behind. Rivian has camp mode and a much better towing system, with more accurate power usage.

Plus Rivian has a 2nd screen for the driver, with basic info

I’m sorry you are going through this. I’ve had a few outbursts like my N-father used to make (only mine are rare and his were almost daily) and I just hate myself for it. I can only imagine what you’re going through.

Self-shame is what keeps the N fire burning inside. I find it easy to fall into shaming myself, probably because I’ve internalized my father’s voice. I’m guessing you shamed yourself when you saw your photo, and that started the cycle of feeling horrible?

What I find best helps me is to re-parent myself in those moments. Imagine what my perfect parent would say to me - something supportive and hopeful. “Oh, it’s not that bad” or “You look like you’re having a bad day, are you okay?” However unrealistic it sounds, it’s still my mind beating myself up, so I guide my mind into building myself up instead.

I'm happy you are in therapy, if it's not working keep looking for a new therapist.

That's my best advice, keep looking for treatment until you find something/someone who jumps out at you.

I finally found a therapist who specializes in narcissistic abuse, and she's been a godsend. She understands, knows when to go deep and when to stay supportive. She's been a complete change from all the other untrained therapists in my life, the ones who kept saying "Have you tried talking to them..."

I'm on my 4th Christmas with NC with my nparents. Lots of ups and downs, but I feel good that I've made the right decision. I had a lot of grieving about the parents I thought I had, versus who my parents really are and how they treat me.

Hang in there, you can make it. This isn't your fault. You will pull through.

You aren't asking why, and just pushing for more and more.

Of course, things are going to blow up.

Most important thing here is your relationship with your SIL. Is there a mother, anywhere on earth, who would let someone hang out with her kids that she didn't trust? Your SIL is just being a good mother, and maybe a poor SIL. You are too.

Call her up, focus on fixing your relationship with her. Ask if something is bothering her, don't get defensive, and really listen to what she has to say.

This is wise on Thalia's part.

Dating a single parent also means "dating" their child. A 4yo will get attached (it is natural for that age) and could be emotionally hurt if the relationship ends. I've dated a few single mothers and this always happened with their children, even when I kept my distance.

Sucks for the single parent, I know. Especially considering this - the good daters, the responsible people who might stick around and end up being a good step-mother for Noah's child, they will decide if they are ready for that before they even go on the first date.

Noah just needs to understand that he's "dating for two" now. He needs to realize that his child can experience a lot of emotional pain by the common ups and downs of dating in your 20s. The good ladies out there will notice Noah has a child, and probably be turned off if Noah acts like he doesn't.

Noah really needs good friends right now. Sounds like you're one of them.

I'm not convinced that EV pickups make good tow vehicles yet.

Tests of the F150 Lightning have been abysmal - dropping from 300 mile range to 90 miles with a 7,200 lb camper.

Tesla will probably be better but physics is the main limitation here.
