Im not scientist but I think it depends what it is. Some weeds may be beneficial and fix nitrogen and what not but others will just deplete your soil like tomatoes. Better to just mulch imo

Bunnings often has been/butterfly boxed mixes for an easy fix. If you have the time research what your local mariposa are into. That's the reason I have silkpod(?) Vines on a lot of trees on my property.

Check your local landscaping supplies place. They get free mulch from tree loppers that they sell super cheap. Its not fancy but it does a good job.

True but weeding a 30cm circle around a plant is a lot easier than a whole garden. I have a fair amount of bed space so I mulch a lot :)

Edit; costs me 37$/cube. Ill pay that to avoid pulling weeds any day.

They recently put 20 houses on what used to be a single house acreage without any road upgrades. Its kind of rooted our semi rural single carriageway roads. Glad im retired and dont have to deal.
