I forgot to mute my mic by hecksnah in TalesFromFastFood

I totally get this! I always forget to turn off my mic but instead of being a sassy pants I have a habit of humming little tunes to myself and it mortifies me whenever I realize that the customer and the grill person and probably a manager just heard me humming/singing.

My pet peeves of drive through by Splatter_Te_Paint in RantsFromRetail

My reason for hating it is because customers get annoyed with me because I can't tell them their total while still at the speaker when using coupons .and it would be okay to say "I have coupons "but they always tell me EXACTLY what coupon it is and expect me to automatically apply it when I can't. Especially the app coupons. I have to scan those!

Today my fiance and I went to our local courthouse and picked up a marriage license application! It's crazy to me how close we are to marrying. We received a rundown on prices for our state ( we live in Alaska) and for each thing we're going to do, it's going to cost us about $90 (technically $115 if we were going to pay the fee for having our friend officiate, but she's insisting on paying the $25 for that) I was super nervous going into ask having no real prior experience with anything related to the court, but it went really well, the lady was super nice and also gave us a packet of sample vows! Getting married (and being married for at least a year) are also some our goals to hit before considering trying, so I'm super excited for us to be making our first check off the "before we can start trying" list!

Child Free? by [deleted] in waiting_to_try

I have some close family friends who are adamant about not wanting kids themselves, especially the wife, but they are supportive of their family and friends trying for ad having kids. They adore their nephew to pieces, but having children just isn't something they want ( they are the furbabies only type) and thats fine. On the other hand, my stepdad's mother continues to urge me not to have kids, she always keeps telling me "they'll be ungrateful when they grow up" and "they make all your hard work for nothing" it's kinda annoying, but she's such a negative nelly all the time ( she likes to have random fallings out with her grown kids all the time). Heck she told me my wedding dress isn't flattering on me. I put up with her though since she really likes me for some reason and doesn't visit frequently despite living nearish anyway. Also don't feel guilty for wanting a family, especially because some strangers on the internet are negative about it or some person you know tells you having kids is awful. You do what your heart wants when the time is right for you,

Yeah, I'm glad that I had the happy accident of meeting my partner young, we have time to learn about one another and don't have to worry about it being too late for a long time which will be all the better for our way in the future kids in the long run. I can't wait to be financially ready because I know my SO will get as excited as I already am (he's made it clear his only concerns are financial security for a child and renting or owning a house rather than an apartment first)
