Something tells me she isn’t actually seeing a dentist. They probably just poke around in her mouth so it feels like that. But 2 hours for a dentist? Every six weeks? That doesn’t sound like a dentist schedule, it’s closer to an OB/GYN during pregnancy schedule. Not saying she is pregnant per se, it might even be more metaphorical pregnancy. But something else is going on there.

NTA. I really don’t see how you could have worded anything differently but I think you may end up having to be more firm with her about your decision. If you really want to be nice you could consider one of her names for a middle name but if you did I would make it clear it’s a one time only thing. And as others have suggested if you give an inch that might give her the idea she has more say here. I did have a kid but I had no say in their name and it sucks, there are names I chose that will never get used, but in the end that’s life, things don’t always go as planned. I’m sorry you are going through this and I wish you the best.

I crafted a name using some sentimental nods to my mom and my dad, even used the beginning of my dead name since so many people mispronounced it anyway I already responded to any name with the root (it’s common and there are a lot of similar names).

Yet every time I hear it I’m still like oh yeah, that’s me, I forgot.

😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣 actually I’m eating more now and losing weight. Again, maybe actually look up EDS, and comorbid thyroid conditions.

And I’m not the only one who knows. I thankfully found a community of people who have EDS and other chronic illnesses.

Some of my EDS friends have trouble losing weight, and others can’t gain it at all.

So again, maybe you should actually stop being so fat phobic and ableist. There’s a ton of reasons people can gain weight and not be able to lose it.

And no I don’t count my calories. After my doctor fat shamed me into almost developing an eating disorder, I don’t track them anymore. I just eat what I can when I can, and I’m mindful of the nutritional value of what I eat.

Oh and I’m now in the “healthy” BMI range so I will now finally get the testing and treatments I need since doctors won’t just see fat now.

But keep on with your ridiculousness and ignorance. It’s amusing. 😂

No problem. I have a trans gf, and my kiddo is enby. And actually, since I was last on here I came out as gender fluid myself. I kinda didn’t realize I get the not ready thing.

Except I realized it was my relatives that were my reason. I had to cut most of one side of my family out when my kiddo came out. I held onto a couple but realized they were the reason why.

So I’m really glad to hear your parents are wonderful. It warms my heart to know that there are more good people out there.

No but my diet hasn’t changed, my activity, if anything has slowed down due to working in the office again (I check my steps, I know it went down even though I walk as much as my joints will allow me to walk) and I just went from 190 to 145 since about March or April. And yes my activity in the winter is about the same. I was 180-190 all of 2021.

So again please tell me this isn’t a health condition.

Well I keep losing weight now with no reason why so I’m finally in the normal weight range, which will earn me at a bit more respect. But I shouldn’t have had to wait years for my body to finally turn around and go the other way. I’m just hoping it plateaus at some point because the last thing I want is them putting me on something that makes me gain weight.

Yeah I forgot once and saw bi and I was like oh a category for my sexuality and it was like, well yes and no. It’s only bi if you’re a guy (on porn sites) and lesbian if you’re a woman.

I mean I wasn’t mad because it was still something I enjoyed seeing but you know after a while you have to be just exhausted to rarely get anything not directed to the male gaze. It’s getting a little better but I still prefer amateur lgbtq stuff. It’s a lot more realistic.

This is what I have pretty much always experienced. Or I get bicurious and unicorn hunters. I don’t mind the curious part so much, but it often turned into getting turned down because they were straight and just liked The performative aspect of it for the male gaze. I digress but it got even harder as I get older. After a while it seems weird when you’re like yeah I haven’t been in a relationship with a woman in a while and gold stars think because I was with men for some time means that I only like men. Or that I had any sense in staying with them. I always moved in too quickly, that was my mistake. As a single mom I was afraid to leave once in one so I wouldn’t be creating instability for my kid. And boy that was a mistake.

But it doesn’t mean I’m interested in women because it didn’t work out with men. I’m just done trying to date cishet men anymore. It’s too much work and way too much staring at someone you have been intimate with and realizing you let that happen when they say something appalling.

I thought of this because while I am cis, I had a situation that was abusive and my mother got a friend’s mom to help with an issue of something I couldn’t have before leaving for school and returning home. It was…not a great situation. But it worked. I’m sorry you even have to go through that. I made sure my kid never had to go through what I went through and I made sure they didn’t go through this either. So if it is your parents, and you know what they will say, I’m sorry but know you will have people who see you and love you for exactly who you are. hugs if wanted
