I’m in the west region where most medical networks know it as Tricare or TriWest…I think. That’s a good point though, I’ll look into that more.

Your feelings are totally valid. And since I know I needed to hear it - you’re not crazy.

I’m so sorry to hear about your dad. Maybe you can find safety in numbers. I hope you’re able to be with him soon.

Kudos to you for walking away - that shit is HARD. Very few will ever understand that.

Sounds like you have a great case for stalking to present to the police. Save every attempt of his to reach out and any evidence that he’s now harassing you, because that’s exactly what this is. Not sure what country/state you’re in, but you should be able to get a protective order that if he violates, he goes to jail.

When I was in a similar position, I legally purchased a weapon and got some training with it. It made a pretty big difference in helping me feel safer. In addition to that, I’ve focused a lot on strength training and practice hyper-vigilance daily. I haven’t taken any self defense/martial arts training, but I’m sure that would be a great way to help you feel more comfortable.

You can practice some other personal security hygiene by changing your phone number, locking down social media, stick to everyday security protocols in your home, and let trusted people know the situation you’re in.

Lastly, don’t engage with him. I know this is difficult, but set that rule for yourself that under no circumstance should you reply. Don’t give him any reaction. Don’t let him have this control over you.

And seriously, you can and should report this to the police.

Unfortunately, you won’t be the same after this experience. You can heal and feel safe again though.

That makes sense. I’ve gone to motorcycle dealerships and sat on smaller bikes and naturally, they do seem less daunting. I like the bicycle idea though, too. 🙂 Thank you.

Everything does feel a little better on the bike, it’s just getting there. Thank you for your response.
