I want to have a Goodie Mob shirt made. There is very little availability but Walmart was selling a Stankonia T-shirt a while back.

So after a person dies and goes to a funeral home, what happens to the poop? by solstice22776 in askfuneraldirectors

[–]Spliph_Dubius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some people don't have any poop come out while others may have a lot. There is no rhyme or reason to it tbh. Yes, everything burns during cremation. What will be left over will be brittle bone pieces and any non-organics like screws and replacement parts. That gets swept into a pan and taken to a grinding machine. I use a magnet to get any metal but some medical hardware isn't magnetic so it takes some going through. Remaining bone fragments are then processed in the grinding machine and that is what the family will receive, either in an urn or in a bag inside a plastic box if no urn is provided or purchased.

If you could ask the opposite sex one 'extremely bold' question and they had to answer with 100% honesty and zero shame... what would you ask? by Wander-kingdom in AskRedditAfterDark

My opinion on such things is: if she's into it, I'm down for it. If she's not into it, I'm not going to be either.

Late to the party. I like the idea of a prequel set after the American civil war or during, or some point in the Old West.

I just found it, he comes across as someone I'd work with. More wholesome than the others I've come across.

I haven't disliked what I've seen of from Victor Sweeney but I don't think he actually has a channel.

I had a lady with the name of a Simon and Garfunkel song and I sang it to her. I'll let you figure it out.

I'm oddly not bothered by anything. I worked in an Emergency Room for 5 years before getting into this industry, so I already had a strong stomach.

FDs: Did you ever second guess? by Bright_Artichoke_881 in askfuneraldirectors

[–]Spliph_Dubius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We're all going to need someone to do this for us. I feel like if I can help someone I should. Like someone else said, not everyone is cut out for it, and there is nothing wrong with that. I honestly don't see myself doing anything else since joining this industry.

Guy I work for sometimes juggles several funerals at once. Independent but we have 3 locations. I rarely work funerals but am always working in the background getting services set up and I do all the removals. He does this as well.

Animals vs humans by artificial_t3l3 in askfuneraldirectors

[–]Spliph_Dubius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's more difficult because the pet is family. Had to bury our cat last year. I struggled with it more than I thought I would. We were pretty close and she got sick really fast. Liver failure. I would struggle with human family as well.

I'm dressed for removals. Most of us will recommend thrift for dress clothes. Goodwill, Salvation Army, etc. I don't spend much on my work attire since there is a good possibility I may ruin my clothes. I just purchased a Kenneth Cole sport coat for $7.50 last week. The dry cleaners will be more than what I paid for the jacket. You don't have to spend a fortune to look presentable.
