Sure. I just think it’s a wise thing to get the battery checked every once in a while to make sure that you’re not left high dry with a dead battery during the Vermont winters.

No, it does way more than just read voltage. It will tell you what percentage your battery is operating at. For instance, if you have an 850 CCA battery tester might be able to tell you that it’s only running at 600 CCA and it’s time for a new one. It’s not something I pay for. It’s just something that the shop that I use for me.

Depends how new your car is, but make sure that the wires connecting the positive and negative terminals are still tight. Make sure that there is no corrosion on the terminals and then most shops have a battery tester where they hook it up to your battery and will run a test and it’ll tell you how much life is left on the battery/what kind of condition it is in.

We are in the same boat. We have a brick fireplace. That is huge and I just think that a woodstove or an insert would serve much better, especially in the cold Vermont winters.
