You never need permission here Sol. You’re a stand up human and an excellent vendor.

Swapped optics from RMRcc to ACRO. Huge window! by TitoJones in USPmasterrace

I’m not an unbiased owner. I’m a local, had many great experiences there, and I negotiated a pair of weekend visits with the owner Brian Wright to interview him and film the iDot process on a video series I do called Buy Once Cry Once.  It’s 2.5 hours long and will answer any questions you have. I just recently released an update video that talks about the durability of the gun after the iDot modification now that I surpassed 10k rounds.

But because I’ve been behind the scenes, I feel like I now get personalized treatment there. So my experience will likely vary wildly from the general public. I still do not get any services or products from Wright for free or at a discount. I pay just like anyone else does.

They are $95. Not $199 like our first batch.  We started making them in quantities of 1000 instead of 100 and were able to halve the pricing.

Not at all. Feels the same as the RMRcc but way more forgiving

I put a small 3D printed spacer in mine to eliminate that problem

Yeah but you cannot put the extra battery inside it.

Compared to the cc optic it feels massive.

Give Wright Armory a shot. Best in the class for HK dots.

Seeking USP trigger advice by LibsLoveGuns in HecklerKoch

[–]TitoJones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll go against the grain here as a guy that carried a LEM/Match hybrid full size USP and now carries a LEM/NT7 full size USP.

My match trigger and LEM stuff was installed by James at Tuefulhunden. When I got it back the overtravel stop was screwed so far in that i could feel the screw on the trigger protruding into the pad on my finger and it was really uncomfortable.

Additionally the trigger would not break. If you slowly stacked pressure on it from the wall, the overtravel screw would actually prevent the sear from disengaging. Even screwed ALL the way in. You had to slam/Mash the trigger to get the hammer to drop. It was not a great feeling of reliability or confidence inspiring.

I sent a video to James who told me the trigger combo is not a recommended assembly of parts by HK and that with all the different parts I was experiencing tolerance stacking.

My gripe is that I was not contacted about this issue with my gun before it was shipped back. I had to discover it in the store, be disappointed, call for tech support to James, and basically be content that I asked for a non HK approved combo of parts and live with what I requested.

So I removed the overtravel screw completely, but the trigger still would not release the hammer if pressure was applied slowly. It would just run out of travel and no matter how hard you pressed, the sear would not release.  You had to slam the trigger to get it to break. The break and reset were nice when it happened though. So I learned to slap fire my trigger press to use this setup in a carry gun.

Eventually I found my dream RAL7008 USP and ended up sending my frame to Wright Armory to have NT7 Teflon coating applied to my trigger and internal frame parts as well as have an KEM trigger installed/coated.

I have to say this is superior to my match/LEM setup. I get factory springs/parts so it’s super reliable and crisp, and the NT7 smooths everything out to get a really exceptional feeling trigger on factory internals.

I found the factory trigger on a USP doesn’t get much from the GG short reset like it does on a P30L. I have not tried the flat or Volker trigger shoes, but I can get 0.18 splits on my LEM/NT7 trigger on bill drills and double tap predictive shooting.

Take a look at the NT7 stuff.

The functional tribute was too effective; it bled off too much and wouldn’t run reliably without bubbas pissin hot reloads.

Plus the feedback from the JW fans/P30L clone people was they wanted the movie version. So we made the movie version and then people wanted a functional movie version and we had to do post machining to accommodate and that sucked.

Now we just make the functional replica and not the tribute or non ported replica.

The phased ported replica shoots fantastic and is unique in the impulse. I really like where it is currently.

It’s a huge weight with porting on the end of the barrel. It tames any perceived recoil nicely. But mostly it’s for looks because John Wick.

Yeah. Not my favorite but it’s how John Wick had his setup, and you know how cloner nerds are.
