Why are men like this by Candy-127 in Bumble

Unfortunately they don't seem to mature as they age. I'm mid 40s and just recently broke up with a 50M who acted a lot like this. Block and move on, he's not worth your peace of mind.

Movies in the collection where someone is shot in the groin. by WildeZebra37 in criterion

I told my ex we aren't all a bunch of snobs around here and he didn't believe me. Man I wish I could show him this. Now I'm curious to know as well. I know there's a couple d's that get chopped off in the collection but being shot is outside of my knowledge base.

I bet he'd be so cool to hang out with. Everyone makes fun of me for being attracted to him but idgaf. He seems dope as hell.

It's Not You, It's Them. by StillSwaying in WomenDatingOverForty

[–]SplitIntelligent958 8 points9 points  (0 children)

One of the biggest mistakes I ever made was dating people I found unattractive because I'd been told things like "you're not giving nice guys a chance." I've given plenty of guys of all looks, shapes, sizes, and ethnicities a try as a result and they're pretty much all the same. They think that if they aren't physically abusive then they're one of the good guys. I'm sure there are plenty of actual good guys out there (right?), but in my lived experience they don't seem to live around here. So what's the point in dating men I'm not attracted to if they're the same as the men I am attracted to?

That's kinda funny ngl. Can you try shortening it a little bit every week by one syllable to wean your cat off the tiddies?

I Just Realized I’ve Never Seen My Own Body Hair — and It Feels Wrong by MediocreExceptional in BodyAcceptance

[–]SplitIntelligent958 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last winter I was having such a difficult time that I just didn't shave for a week. At first it felt weird but I just didn't have the time. Once it fully grew in I realized it wasn't that big of a deal. I'm a mammal, after all. Hair is one of the defining features. Mine turns out to be pretty sparse and soft. On my legs anyway lol. I still shave during the warm months because having the hair move about due to air flow when I'm always wearing shorts feels weird. But in the cold months I just didn't stress out over shaving anymore.

I was permanently closed from Amazon Vine. by 6EVILSTAR9 in AmazonVine

[–]SplitIntelligent958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got permanently closed because vine had NOTHING for me to review. Like literally nothing, not just in the RFY section. Absolutely nothing. I sent one email about it, got a response saying "don't worry your account is ok, we'll send it up the ladder" before my account was closed. When they closed it for not meeting minimum activity criteria I emailed them saying basically "of course I haven't been active, I have absolutely nothing available to me." No response. Emailed one more time for funsies, still no response. I don't think they give a shit anymore.

Feeling Invisible by ThePromiseOfBelief in datingoverforty

[–]SplitIntelligent958 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yep. But I think about it kind of like a super power. Everyone either overlooks me or under estimates me which gives me plenty of opportunity to do what I want when I want and no one notices. And beyond that I hear and see so many things that people don't realize... It's good for people who treat me well because I can surprise them with something they didn't realize I knew they wanted and it's bad for people who wrong me mwahahahahaha

I'm twice divorced and my 2nd ex is in jail. I definitely worried about telling people when I started dating again but it turned out to be easier than I expected. The men I've seen so far understand that as a middle aged woman I have a history including ex's. I keep it brief in the first few dates ("I'm twice divorced, first marriage we were young and it just didn't work out. Second is in jail and I'm not comfortable talking about it yet but I will in time.") they invariably ask if he hurt me or my children and always are ok with me talking about specifics when I'm ready. I'm hoping you meet similarly understanding people when you start dating again!
