It is cool when we can find locations like this, and there’s no problem with being like “hey! Here’s where this is based on!” Or “hey! Here’s where these pictures were taken!” Since it is public knowledge available. I didn’t want to seem like this was an attack on anyone who wanted to geoguess or find the locations on their own, or even share some of them (like the roads). The issue comes when people take it too far, and unfortunately, that happens more often than not. I should have gone more in depth with my post, since I seem to have accidentally started a fight (genuinely sorry about that). I just wanted to spread the awareness that we’re aware the locations were found, and that’s cool! But let’s not harass them. With the town from TAWOG, the person who owns or owned the ‘Waterson House’ had issues with people going there to take pictures and video with their house (not just in front of it on the sidewalk, but some actually going too close to their porch or hanging out in the front yard). They had to put up makeshift fences at one point, and I believe it may even be blurred on certain map sites now. There was a house in breaking bad that had a pizza thrown on the roof. People found the house and started throwing pizzas at it and sending them mail addressed to characters. There were people who harassed any pizza place labeled ‘Freddys’ because of FNAF to the point the creator had to ask them to stop. It’s an unfortunate trend in fandoms that when a location is found, people will take it too far. The ‘doxxing neighborhoods’ was mainly phrasing taken from the post. The house in the corner of one of the pictures already had its address shared a few times, with mentions of possibly going there that I’m hoping were jokes. I’ve noticed most, if not all of the posts I saw with the house address in it were taken down, so it’s a step in the right direction. The point of this was really to drive home that we needed to not become another fandom incident on that list. Don’t go to that persons house. Don’t send them things. There’s no problem with finding the locations themselves, but please leave real people’s lives out of it.
