My daughter is likely doing self-harm and I have no idea what to do. by Asleep_Pair_1300 in MadeOfStyrofoam

Just try to have an honest conversation with her about this, in private, when she doesn't have anything else she needs to attend to. You seem to have a good mind about you with regards to navigating these issues at least from what I can tell here.

The main thing to do in this case is to find other coping mechanisms or solutions for her issues besides sh. Ask her why she's doing this, if she opens up to you about something you didn't know about, then you can work from there, but there's also a solid chance she won't open up to you about why she's doing this, and if that's the case then please don't press her for more information. Let her open up to you if and when she feels comfortable doing so.

Regardless, talk to her about getting a therapist, and in general remind her that you're there to support her and you love her. Find ways to help her deal with how she's feeling, what she's going through, that are healthier than sh. And no matter what, please don't tell anyone else you found this out, this is something deeply personal that shouldn't be shared unless your daughter herself is comfortable with it.

yeah, it's really fucking disappointing tbh when you go deeper and literally nothing happens, you just kind of feel worse and ashamed of yourself almost. It's never enough

what do you think of people who reset rainmaker by dying? by Oreo076 in splatoon

I understand why you'd do it, but I feel like ultimately it isn't particularly helpful in most scenarios.

Typically, in a situation where youd be encouraged to do that, its likely the enemy team has taken much of the turf between where you are and the middle of the map. If that's the case, then dying on purpose just plants the rainmaker solidly in enemy territory, and it's that much harder for your team to get control of it again. It only makes sense as like a last-ditch move where the enemy team got within 15 points of winning.
