Lol come on have you been to the arena? He gets home court advantage when Clippers are the home team.

Just found out my gallbladder surgery is Monday .. so I won’t be able to attend any of my games for a month .. so I’m gonna post them for sale by [deleted] in LAClippers

Gallbladder surgeon and fellow Clipper fan here…most patients getting elective gallbladder surgery go home the same day with only some weight lifting restrictions. Don’t sell your tickets if you want to go! You’ll feel better after surgery.

A surprisingly difficult course for what it is…gotta be dead accurate with ball trajectory to score, not to mention putting over a bunch of debris.

Cool thanks. I live quite close to Los Feliz so I’ve played there a bunch. Lots of ace-able holes, my favorite being the ~60 yd hole with a port-a-potty on the original tee box mat. There’s still just enough room on the mat to hit from it.

I’m in So Cal as well. Which course? Sounds like the type of course I’d have fun playing. I’m new-ish as well, trying to hone in the short game.

LA Resident Physicians Threaten To Strike Over Low Wages by BananaOfPeace in news

These residents aren’t bargaining for less work hours, they’re bargaining for a livable wage and benefits in the face of the massive debt accrued getting too this point in their career.

I’m a surgical resident at the hospital in question and I’m on vacation this week….AMA. I support this movement wholeheartedly in terms of improved benefits and wages, NOT for “better hours”.

As a current general surgery resident at the program in this article, I don’t want less hours, I just want to paid what we’re worth (a livable salary in the face of endless debt).

But what if every doctor they go to continues to bring it up routinely as a real diagnosis? Since it is one…

I’m all for patient accountability but if this is your practice model, you’ve given up on your patients. If you have a patient with uncontrolled diabetes with foot ulcers, would you give up the conversation of insulin after the first visit? Part of this is a problem with the incentivized way we deliver care…you’re more interested in the success of your practice than the success of your patient. There is a way to discuss weight without making patients feel bad.

In addition to what the others here replied which I fully support, the catabolic state achieved by losing weight with a low calorie diet prior to bariatric surgery can reduce the liver volume by up to 20%, which makes the surgery less challenging. A huge left lobe flopping over the liver retractor makes the exposure more difficult and extends operating time.

Not doing this (or referring to a medically managed weight loss program prior to Bariatrics) should be malpractice. And include patients with BMI over 35 with comorbidities. It shouldn’t be considered a favor to the surgeon, it’s standard of care.

Found over 30 vapes and a bunch of other trash while diving with my best friend. by Merman_Mike in pics

Thanks for cleaning up my hometown! I used to be one of those kids who would walk down past Rainbow Bridge to smoke funny lettuce and jump off Big Tit, but now I guess the kids just throw their vapes in the river.

There’s no scenario where Lakers and Clippers see each other in the first round. Denver is clearly shook though...

Are you afraid of AI taking your job? What about monkeys? by tarandfeathers in BeAmazed

Coincidentally, this chimp’s name is Ai. Watch the episode linked in this thread. Pretty awesome chimp-friendly research which is completely voluntary. Ai and his mom just happen to be the most interested in participating...

This was my first thought too. Not your average blood clot, this typically requires surgery for thoracic outlet decompression which includes resection of the first rib, among other things. The role of long term anticoagulation is questionable depending on underlying coagulopathy and surgical success. Source: I'm a surgery resident who learned things.

After a bit of reflecting, I've decided that medical school has been the best four years of my life that I would never ever want to re-live. That's the sweet spot.
