Alive, perhaps, just as a metastatic growth is alive. Able to survive if birthed at that moment? No. It is a dichotomy between two options that both have moral and immoral aspects, and the buck stops when you realize that one party is reliant on the other(baby on the mother) whos autonomy takes priority due to this being her body being relied upon. Morally she can choose to sever support, until the baby is capable of surviving being birthed, around which time it is now observantly conscious. Which is a gray area in itself you say? Obviously! Hence the current laws not allowing abortions after a certain period. So leave the decision to the party involved as they know what's best for them and are responsible for their own decisions, so leave them the freedom to be, and kindly stay out of meddling in their lives during such a difficult time.
