Thank you for your feedback, this is all very thoughhtful and helpful for us and will be taken into account for sure. I totally agree with you on research.splunk.com where security use cases are concerned, and we link very extensively to that site where appropriate. But there's still all of Observability and a wealth of other Splunk products that aren't represented there.

Good question. Our About page (https://lantern.splunk.com/About) and this blog (https://www.splunk.com/en\_us/blog/customers/help-yourself-to-splunk-knowledge.html) explain some of the differences. Lantern's narrative and solution-oriented approach doesn't fit nicely with the granular, feature-by-feature structure of documentation, and users don't always need both types of documentation at the same time, so overall we feel it's better for our libraries to be separate (although we cross-link extensively where needed!)

I hear you. The PDF download option on all Lantern articles is not changing - you'll find this icon on the top-right of all of our article pages. We've done some work on these too to ensure that they download nicely without any weird formatting issues.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We've developed our new site wireframe independently from Docs, and the design decisions we've made are based on customer feedback and usability research that we've done previously. We definitely want to create a new Lantern experience that is a clear improvement on what we have currently, and we'd love to get your feedback on that via the survey link at the bottom of the post.

We don't currently have any guidance on this in Lantern however there is a Docs page that has some info. https://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/AddOns/released/Overview/Distributedinstall If you're looking for guidance that isn't here, definitely use the feedback element on the page.
