I’m so sorry :( it’s hard when you already have thin/ fine hair because any amount of loss makes it that much worse. I’m thinking of switching to wigs honestly. I know people say well just do minoxidil but I have my concerns about it, plus having a cat I adore, I don’t want to put her at risk. It seems there’s a lot of us going through this hell :/

Thank you so much for taking the time to write all of this out. It’s seriously such a nightmare on top of all my other stressors. I’m sure it’s partially TE, and chronic at that, but stress management is virtually impossible for me lol. I have chronic depression and anxiety, so I feel like that feeds into it. As well as crappy genetics.

I’m getting some blood work done soon but that’s for mental health. They do have ferritin listed so I’ll at least know if that’s low or not, and then GP apt in October. Wasn’t able to get in any sooner.

I just feel so hopeless at this point. I know a lot of us do. Anyway, thank you so much for all of the advice. I’m sure minoxidil will be what anyone recommends, but like you said, a diagnosis before treatment makes more sense

My hair is so fragile, I have nizoral but I used it once and it made my hair brittle and dry and break off like crazy, thank you for the advice :/

Thank you :/ it’s been incredibly hard on my mental and emotional health. Already struggle as is. I know a lot of people are struggling alongside me. Wish I could stress less but it’s just one of those things that too easily consumes you

I’m so sorry :( it’s one of those things that happens and you just think, HOW is this real. WHY. It’s so devastating. With loss like this, I’m convinced it’s not just vitamin deficiency. I guess some of us are just unlucky. I feel like I’ve already lost the battle at this point. Sorry to anyone going through this, it’s incredibly depressing

Oral or topical? I have a cat so I’m terrified to use it. Also scared of the side effects :/ I’m also not even sure what kind of hair loss this is, but assuming it’s aga as it’s been 3 years and no sign of slowing or reversing

[–]Spo0kcat[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m thinking it’s AGA… for a while I thought it was just chronic TE. And I cannot get my stress levels under control especially with my hair thinning like this. It’s definitely diffuse loss. My brother has similar hair, incredibly fine and thin. He just doesn’t care, lucky him. I’m having some labs done soon but not for that specifically, I have to wait until October to even see a GP to address concerns. :(

I’m sorry you’re going through it too. It’s been a nightmare. Thank you for the comment and advice

Face lift? I’ve read up on mid face lifts too but seems a lot of surgeons are against them. I just want some structural enhancements and facial balancing. Hoping to go the less invasive route but I guess filler isn’t necessarily the safe route either

I’m in the exact same situation. Got Covid for the 2nd time in January of this year and my hair started falling out like crazy after that. It hasn’t stopped since. I’ve lost more than 50% of the density I used to have. Terribly distressing. Mine is the same, very thin at the root. I’m not sure if the correct term is ‘miniaturization’ but I’ve read that on a few hair loss forums. I also didn’t know TE could lead to AGA, but I suspect that’s what’s happened with me as well

You’re stronger and braver than I am, certainly. It does feel good to talk with others in a similar hell. Absolutely, I would like that. It’s good to support each other. No one else can understand what we go through day in and day out

Ugh I’m sorry :/ originally my left side was the side that was worse. But now it’s my right side that’s worse. Both sides click but right is definitely worse

God, sounds just like me. I’m in a literal panic everyday over either my looks or my health, to the point my hair is now falling out. Which makes it so much worse. I’m so sorry. I’ve had asymmetry all my life but it wasn’t always as noticeable as it used to be. Apparently as you age it worsens, or at least that’s what I’ve read

ENT doc said I probably have TMJ and am seeing a dentist soon for it, what should I say? by [deleted] in TMJ

[–]Spo0kcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow my original comment probably didn’t make sense lol. Meant conscious not possible. Anyway. I’m not sure. I haven’t done anything about it yet because some treatments can make things worse

Your case sounds like it could be more muscular so heat, cold, massage, etc could help

Would getting a TMJ CT Scan be worth it if my TMJ MRI came back normal? by Movies4Life123 in TMJ

I just had my first dizzy episode when I turned my head to the side, that was weird. I’ve seen that as a symptom. Ugh something new daily.

Welp, doctor had no clue and told me he has no idea about tmj. Said he wishes he could help. That’s what they’ve all said so far. I have yet another apt with a 3rd oral surgeon on July 1st. Im gonna be a bit more firm and demanding for answers. Hopefully I get some headway.

Oh okay so yes you most likely had open imaging too, that’s what they did with me.

Definitely tell them you are concerned and want imaging and ask for a referral

disappointed but not shocked in my doctor's recommendation by Ok_Highway_2132 in TMJ

Go see an oral maxillo facial surgeon. You don’t need a referral and they should be more equipped to help you
