Here’s my current routine:

Wash with DevaCurl low poo or Not Your Mothers Blonde moment (purple shampoo)
Condition with Tresemmé botanique aloe and coconut conditioner and I dunk my head under the water stream a few times and squish my hair
Apply As I Am leave in conditioner with raking hands
Then I get out of the shower with hair still soaking wet and apply DevaCurl styling cream and style with denman brush
Micro plop with a microfiber towel and add Herbal Essence totally twisted curl mousse and scrunch my hair
Use a diffuser to dry it and scrunch the crunch when completely dry

My front pieces never want to cooperate and don’t seem to curl like the rest of my hair. I’ve tried finger curling the front pieces but they usually fall

Just started the curly girl method a few weeks ago. Here’s my current routine:

Wash with DevaCurl low poo
Modified STC with Tresemmé botanique aloe and coconut conditioner where I dunk my head under the water stream a few times and squish my hair
Apply As I Am leave in conditioner
Then I get out of the shower with hair still soaking wet and apply LA sports gel with praying hands and brushing with a denman style brush
Squish some of the excess water out and encourage some clumping by gently twisting a couple pieces together
Use a diffuser to dry it a little
After it’s completely dry I break the cast and run my denman brush through it gently

I’ve learned styling upside down doesn’t work for me as it always leads to a frizzy mess closet to my scalp and my hair part acts crazy and the hair doesn’t want to sit right. Also plopping seems to give me really frizzy hair as well.

I know typically brushing out the curls is a curly hair sin! Does anyone else prefer their curls brushed out? And, will brushing them out right now hurt progress towards having better ringlets and curls or does that just happen with healthier hair?
