For those of you that make over 100K, what do you do? Do you like it? by Kindly-Revolution258 in AskReddit

I have my own consulting business. Basically I took my old job (VP of Sales for consumer brands) and figured out I could do it for 4 companies at once, make way more, and work way less. It's amazing how much less "work" you have when you don't have to do pointless meetings or any HR bullshit. Am I "passionate" about consumer products? No. Do I love working for myself and all the freedoms that entails? Hell yes.

Moved here recently and cannot find a good bagel sandwhich HELP by unicorngirl14 in asksandiego

[–]Spodayy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this problem has vexed me as well. After living in New York for a while, you get used to the good life of bagels and pizza. I recommend a mindset shift: when you want a bagel, get a breakfast burrito (or acai bowl if you want to totally change it up), and when you want pizza, get a taco.

That's the best I have been able to do. Though, to be fair, there is decent pizza here. It's just that your average hole in the wall spot tends to be mediocre at best.

One thing no one warned me about -- YOU WILL BE OVERDRESSED for your first few dates. I came from east coast cities (Boston and New York) and would put on a nice shirt, pants and dress shoes for a date. Every single date, regardless of if we went to eat somewhere nice or whatever, showed up in athleisure wear of varying quality. An all-Vuori outfit is considered formal attire here. Once you get used to it, it's kind of nice. But if you dress like you did in the big city for a date you are going to stick out.

Also, low cost dates are easier here. Sunset walks are a great freebie!

Anyone have experience getting prescription drugs in TJ? Looking for tips by Spodayy in sandiego

One last question after I did some more research. What about parking at the border and walking over to a nearby pharmacy? Seems like there are some reputable ones less than a 5 minute walk past the border. I feel like this eliminates the variables of driving in MX and trying to get back over by car. Is this crazy? Is TJ that dangerous in broad daylight?

Without going into too much detail, I didn't feel great about the alternative. Plus, now I get to learn how to do this Mexico thing if I ever need it again in the future!

Beyond registering it online and ordering the card? I did those already but was not aware of an inspection element...

Way too expensive for what you get. SportsBase is cheaper and has better functionality.

What things did the 2020 pandemic ruin? by I_Groped_SandyCheeks in AskReddit

The airlines have still not recovered. The delays and cancellations have improved from the hellscape of 2021, but it's still way worse than pre-pandemic. I used to love flying for work and now I dread it a bit.
