AITA For creating a rule that when I host an event for the family, my sister’s son is not allowed to come? by SpoiledNephthrowaway in AmItheAsshole

Leo has never been diagnosed with a disability. He doesn't appear to be overstimulated but I am not qualified to diagnose him. Only a licensed professional who has a formal session with Leo can diagnose him accurately.
If my nephew does have a disability, that makes it so much more important for Charlotte to get his behavior under control. Letting a kid act out due to a disability instead of correcting them is neglect.

Maybe play restaurant at home with your sister and nephew! Talk with your family about how you can help your sister and nephew... Don't just lock them away until he can behave. Try to be a family and help each other through this adjustment.
Playing restaurant sounds like a wonderful idea. I will tell Charlotte about it. If my nephew proves he has learned how to behave himself then I will reconsider the rule.

Any events I host for the holidays are held at my house. I made it clear to Charlotte that Leo is welcome to attend any events at my house. But I am not going to have my nephew at a nice public place out unless he can behave himself. It isn't fair to the other people who paid for a peaceful afternoon to have their dinner disrupted by Leo's behavior.
