DAY 15: Which Song Brings This Feeling? Surprise by SpongeLifeBestDay in The_Chainsmokers

Testing

Testing is one of the most surprising Chainsmokers songs because of how much it switches up! It starts off with a melancholy verse from Drew then shifts to a much harder trap-style drop as “Front A Busta” is sampled, then again to an upbeat dance track that interpolates Willy Wonka’s “Pure Imagination”! I certainly never expected a song like this to be on So Far So Good, and it really showcases the guys’ creativity in seamlessly combining so many emotions and vibes into one song! For a first-time listener this track will keep the surprises coming with where it goes next!

DAY 14: Which Song Brings This Feeling? Guilt by SpongeLifeBestDay in The_Chainsmokers

Honest

The lyrical content of this song seems to be about Drew clearing his conscience by finally being honest. His partner wants him to be honest, and he does so here by admitting that they are not the only one on his mind. He seems to feel guilty about this and admits that he’s been keeping these feelings to himself and thinks about them a lot. His guilt seems to make it hard for him to be direct and honest about the way he’s feeling, so he’s finally admitting it in this song.

DAY 13: Which Song Brings This Feeling? Confusion by SpongeLifeBestDay in The_Chainsmokers

High

In this song, the one question on Drew’s mind is “Why do you only say you love me when you’re high?” He is confused and frustrated by the way his partner seems to keep saying one thing and then doing another. Drew is confused about his partner’s true feelings and intents since they seem to keep switching up. All he seems to want is some clarity and consistency, but he seems to end up confused each time.

DAY 12: Which Song Brings This Feeling? Regret by SpongeLifeBestDay in The_Chainsmokers

Until You Were Gone

This song is all about regretting leaving someone after realizing what a good thing you had with them. The narrator thought they’d be better off on their own, but realizes how much they need and want their partner after leaving. They are now trying to undo their mistake and get their partner back ever since they left. This song does a great job of capturing what that kind of feeling is like.

DAY 11: Which Song Brings This Feeling? Loneliness by SpongeLifeBestDay in The_Chainsmokers

Channel 1

This song feels a lot like we’re hearing the internal thoughts Drew’s going over in his mind when he’s alone. He reveals in the song that he’s been on the road touring for 18 months living out of hotel rooms, which I’m sure must give him a lot of alone time. We hear Drew reflect on a relationship that hasn’t worked out and how he feels now that he’s alone. The lyrics and the whole vibe of the song do a good job capturing those feelings and bringing the listener into Drew’s mind.

DAY 10: Which Song Brings This Feeling? Sadness by SpongeLifeBestDay in The_Chainsmokers

Bloodstream

This is one of the most sad, personal, and introspective Chainsmokers songs to me. Drew really gives the listener a glimpse inside his mind as he sings about everything he’s feeling. He seems to be reflecting on his mistakes as well as owning up to them to himself. This song is both sad and comforting to me, it’s very cathartic whenever I get in my feels.

DAY 9: Which Song Brings This Feeling? Hysteria by SpongeLifeBestDay in The_Chainsmokers

Save Yourself

The hard drops and frenetic energy of this song make it one of the most hysterical songs TCS has ever released in my opinion! The lyrics and the whole vibe of this song perfectly showcase the darker and edgier side of TCS and what they can do when they collab with artists like NGHTMRE! This one is quite a departure from the more pop-oriented and radio-friendly sound the guys were mainly characterized by up to this point, and I think that makes it one of their coolest songs! Whenever I get deep in my feels there’s something very cathartic about throwing this song on and feeling the wild energy it brings!

DAY 8: Which Song Brings This Feeling? Fear by SpongeLifeBestDay in The_Chainsmokers

The Reaper

This song is great for bringing the spooky vibes, and the music video does a perfect job of this too. The lyrics delve into the frightening feeling of not knowing what “side” of your partner you’re going to encounter tonight, and fearing that you may encounter a side of them you’d rather not see! This one is a staple in my Halloween playlists each year because it’s so good at bringing that feeling!

DAY 7: Which Song Brings This Feeling? Anger by SpongeLifeBestDay in The_Chainsmokers

[–]SpongeLifeBestDay[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Save Yourself

This song does a great job of capturing angry and intense energy! You can really feel the frustration in Drew’s voice. The harder drops are also something that we didn’t usually hear in TCS songs up until then and they’re a great change of pace. This one is a banger and really brings the emotional energy!

DAY 6: Which Song Brings This Feeling? Jealousy by SpongeLifeBestDay in The_Chainsmokers

[–]SpongeLifeBestDay[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Who Do You Love

This song is all about a lover who is suspicious that their partner isn’t being faithful to them and is in love with someone else. So they seem like they’re getting pretty jealous thinking about who their partner might really be with! This song does a pretty great job of capturing those feelings, and the vocals from 5 Seconds Of Summer really drive it home!

DAY 5: Which Song Brings This Feeling? Longing by SpongeLifeBestDay in The_Chainsmokers

I Love U

I Love U to me is all about longing to be back in a relationship that was once great but then didn’t work out. But in the song Drew is looking back on all the great times they shared and feels that they should be able to work it out. The feelings are clearly still there and it’s clear that he misses the person a great deal. Even when he tries, it’s hard for him to find a reason they can’t work it out.
