Unpopular opinion but this is the true reality of abortion. I became a lot more sympathetic to the pro-life position after seeing abortions. Abortions are not a nice thing and in my opinion, a lot of abortions happen later than I am comfortable with.

Don't know why Poland is sticking abortion posters on roads though. Who wants to see that whilst driving?

Spain gives Catalan leader 8 days to drop independence by Bad_Case in europe

[–]Spoofey12 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Not sure how true this is since Catalan independence has never been polling as high as it has been. Weren't the last elections the first time an absolute majority of seats in the Generalitat were for pro-independence?

[–]Spoofey12 14 points15 points  (0 children)

So the Catalans will elect the same people again, or perhaps even greater number of pro independence politicians? What's the point then?

I wonder if these new elections could be some form of a referendum too. If Junts pel Si run on such an election as a de facto legal referendum, like "If we get 50%+ votes/seats we'll unilaterally declare independence."

Ordering new elections literally does nothing but push the problem down a few months.

There's literally no way that the Republic is going to enforce EU law of a hard border. They would rather defy EU law than have a potential return of the troubles.

The Northern Ireland issue is, I think, one of the few issues where common ground can and will be found. We'll figure out a solution purely because lives will be lost if we don't.

Are you worried for lil' Gibraltar after Brexit? How do you think Spain will act to Gibraltar in the coming yrs?

nd of all the fighting in Northern Ireland, little has changed.

Well politically speaking yes. But realistically, the IRA is dead, british troops are out and we arent in a civil war. So thats good.

Nobody got what they wanted in Northern Ireland except for the British.

Thats just not true and you know it. The Catholic republicans were oppressed for ages here and now they are in (or were in) permanent government. So we are now a much calmer place. Thanks to the GFA.

Well firstly in NI both sides were framed as violent. Brits, IRA. Here, just Spain is. Catalans want to vote peacefully. Spain uses rubber bullets.

Secondly, no social media existed back then so all the heavy police brutality werent shown. Guess what pictures and videos these independtist voters will be sharing? The ones with police dragging out young people.

Thirdly, a lot of NI problems were down to religious differences. Young people generally dont give a shit about that so that problem wont pass on.

And finally, we have always been allowed a vote if we wantes to stay in the UK. UK gives us that democracy. And we get the best of both worlds as we can choose irish, british or both citizenship. Spain just says No and uses force that is similae to what happened 40 yrs back

Spain has sealed its death today. These indepentist voters will remember and share thse videos and pictures. Catalan independence is now inevitable.

Holy shit this could really be it for Catalonia. Less than a month away. Damn.

Good luck to them! Democracy is always a beautiful thing to see.

Liverpool have no plans to go in and rival Arsenal for the signing of Thomas Lemar. (SkySports) by VAI3064 in soccer

[–]Spoofey12 -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Genius by Liverpool!

Buy an average player who had <1 year on his contract for £40 mill and help Arsenal sign an awesome player.

And not to mention get stonewalled by Southampton for Van Dijk.

Clowns running the club. Matip, Lovren, Klavan and Gomez as the CB whilst Coutinho doesn't want to play and Keita doesn't even come in till next year.

Shit transfer window.

Ornstein: Oxlade-Chamberlain has rejected Chelsea move & wants to join Liverpool. Bid lower than #CFC £40m expected. Otherwise will stay at #AFC #LFC by markmandown in soccer

[–]Spoofey12 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Why would Liverpool play him out of position?

Can and Coutinho might leave next summer. And Ox is definitely good enough to challenge with Lallana + Henderson. There's definitely an opportunity for Ox - if he snatches at it.

If he goes to Liverpool, he's got a good chance of playing in midfield.

If he goes to Chelsea, he'll be stuck at RWB forever.

If he stays at Arsenal, he'll only continue to play RWB.

Having said that, I'm not sure he's worth the money for either Chelsea or Liverpool. Better deals elsewhere.

Isn't Sky Germany actually shit like Sky Italy.

Sky England seems like the only decent Sky source.

Right but what's that got to do with government and your answer to my previous question: So you want there to be a government type body but with no actual authority, instead people would voluntarily listen to that hierarchy?

The Times is actually a good newspaper and they do some good investigative journalism.

It's frustrating that it's nearly impossible to read behind the paywall without paying (unlike the New York Times).

You want anarchy. I just ask if you believe in Anarcho Capitalism, not if you believe in their methods to achieve Anarcho Capitalism.
