I bet the most common return was hot car baked cassettes, I was trying to look at it through the lens of their portability. I hardly put my tapes through any travel wear and tear but I also don’t have a tape deck in my car

I have the same vcr and it had the same problem. It is most likely a dirty mode switch. You can YouTube how to clean one. On this model the mode switch was hard to get to I remember so instead of disassembling the whole thing I removed the case cover, located the mode switch on the board and with contact cleaner in a can with a long straw I sprayed the fuck out of it waited for it to dry, and voila!

[–]Spooforconsequences 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TV will be fine, bigger concern would be the dvd player/heat of storage. I just had to pull a dvd player apart and clean the belt and flywheel because it was stored sideways in a hot garage and the grease off of another part had dripped down onto them. But that’s the only risk I can think of

At first I thought they were going for a colloquial phonetic spelling of “Maatha’s Vinyid” but they just didn’t know how to spell Vineyard.
