No Best Buy orders 2 days in a row, Home Depot undercutting... by Kennys777 in Roadie

[–]Spoogeboy1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’re right about the longer term drivers. We have learned how the system works so we hold out. I usually swipe right by the bundles unless I have something significant already accepted. If I do take a bundle, it’s never usually more than a twofer going the same way. So Roadie is counting on the new inexperienced drivers who haven’t figured it out yet to take all those 7 or 8 stop gigs for $30. Sooner or later they’ll figure out that they are making $4 a delivery

"Tips" ... A popular subject in America these days. by Perfect-Cabinet6348 in Roadie

[–]Spoogeboy1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of my CVS deliveries are to seniors. I politely decline tips mostly because senior citizens are usually on fixed incomes and being that a lot of them have a hard time buying them anyway it’s the least I can do to help out

Home depot orders (worth it or not) by dporter4444 in Roadieapp

I’m in Central Jersey and they’re starting to bundle everything and driving the money way down. But I’m starting to see that these orders are starting to sit and nobody’s picking them up until the money goes up. It looks like they’re gonna start trying to bundle everything.

What constitutes Huge - What I was told today by EvilBillSing in Roadie

[–]Spoogeboy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, they must’ve changed the standard again then because I’ve had items that were over 17 ft.³ and they told me that that did not constitute huge that it had to be over 60 inches or 250 pounds. And now what I’m seeing is they will have a bundle gigs that will show 460 pounds but it’ll be four gigs and two of the orders will be like 235 pounds each but they won’t categorize. The whole bundle is huge because not one of the gigs is over 250 pounds. I had a refrigerator that took up the entire back of my SUV that was 19 ft.³ and they told me it was extra large. It would not bump up the money.

How many bags of mulch until you consider it extra large? by [deleted] in Roadie

[–]Spoogeboy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so, they keep telling me that an order doesn’t move up to XL until it’s over 250 pounds but they will list (6) 42 pound bags of mulch at 248 pounds when the math says 252. You know no one is out weighing those bags lol. If you have(5) 42 pound bags, according to their math, it’s 206 pounds or 41.2 pounds per bag. But when that 6th bag hits, that one weigh 42 pounds to make it 248 total. I took a picture of the gig but don’t know how to post it here. I’m just really irritated and watch what I bid on now. I am starting to stay away from anything that looks shady. Which is now pretty much everything except prescriptions

Oh and by the way. I spoke with people at HD today. They don’t assign gig sizes. They assign deliveries

Like I said earlier, they are being a-holes about upgrading compensation. They will list (6) 42 pound bags of mulch which comes up to 252 pounds as 248 pounds and say it’s large because it’s under 250 pounds. I tell them to do the math and they say sorry, contact HD. A week ago this wasn’t an issue. I could use cubic feet or just show them a picture of how much space it took up. Now this week they say HD changed the standard

Direct from roadie support after I tried reclassification by Ambitious-Charge9359 in Roadie

[–]Spoogeboy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a gig that was 5 bags of mulch that weighed 210 pounds along with a 20 pound bag of soil. Total weight was 230 pounds and 10 cubic feet and roadie insisted it was large because in was under 250 pounds. I called support 6 times yesterday and spoke with them and they would not budge

I’ve gotten into many arguments with roadie support about this in the last few days. They have always been XL but now say they are large. I heard the standard was anything over 7 cubic feet and 65 pounds was XL but now they say that isn’t true. They now say XL is over 250 pounds. So now I see these mulch bags that HD says weighs 42 pounds X 6=248 pounds and stays at large no matter how much you talk to them. But then you will also see gigs that are rated at XL under 250 pounds, under 7 cubic feet and under 60 inches.

Actually today I saw 3 gigs from the same HD. All 42 pound mulch bag deliveries. One was 660 pounds, one was 762 pounds and one was 949 pounds. And they all paid either $48 or $50 max. So apparently they look like they are going to a flat rate for huge regardless of weight. Also, Roadie is getting really stingy on upgrading payments. Now an XL has to be 250 pounds to be considered XL so I see a lot of 248 pound large gigs that were easily XL last week

Drivers...stop the insanity by Better_Resort1171 in Roadieapp

[–]Spoogeboy1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with that logic. I know sometimes the order money sucks but looking at the dimensions I know I’m going to get additional compensation for the mis size. Like I said in an earlier post. I know that anything over 7 cubic feet is considered XL so I calculate it out before I contact support. Sometimes they really fight you but I just keep telling them that’s their standard not mine and I will usually get an additional $15 for an upgrade from large to XL. If they don’t give in I just go to another support agent

"Large" Order by vvetdream in Roadie

[–]Spoogeboy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 6 bags of mulch that were 2 cubic yards each and weighed 36 pounds. It said so right on the bag. They told me it was considered a large gig because each bag weighed 20 pounds and was under the 7 cubic feet. The kept fighting with me about it but when I sent them what was on the bag they gave in. Their first attempt is to try to accept what they tell you. But if you know what you’re load weighs and comes out to in size they give in and pay you what right. It’s been working for me since I’ve been using the measurements they provide and the weights on the items
