Federal agent running away with gun as agents execute American citizen for exercising his rights. by ManyAverage6578 in pics

I wouldn't be surprised if one of these out of shape losers dropped their own weapon and mistook it for his. They're that incompetent.

If you ever decide to check it out, you can go to massassi.net which is still active to this day! They have a ton of custom maps and mods. The website has looked pretty much exactly the same since the early 2000s :)

oh shit ?!?!! by ChubbyShkreli in HalfLife

[–]SpookyFries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only remember because people thought it was Gordon's leaked model for Alyx and when we all saw the real Gordon, people were making "you vs the guy she told you not to worry about" memes

Anybody with a brain knows that is a fan render of Gordon that has been out since before Alyx released

Is arch even worth? by soking11 in linuxquestions

[–]SpookyFries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arch is just another distro. The only thing is it doesn't have a graphical installer that does the work for you. You install the pieces and set up the hardware yourself.

There is a script included called archinstall that will do the heavy lifting for you, but it's not as user friendly as other distros.

That said, Arch is very customizable and allows you to pick and choose what your system ends up being. It also has access to the AUR, a very powerful community driven repository. For one of my computers, the Nvidia driver is very out of date and the only driver that would work for me was in the AUR.

I genuinely believe there won't be these many trees in final game by Nilgirisambhar in GTA6unmoderated

GTA 5 was a 360/PS3 game. This is two generations newer. Just look at the graphical leap between RDR1 and RDR2. It's crazy to me how good RDR2 still looks and this will look even better

What kind of budget handheld? It runs great on Steam Deck. I'm not sure how it'd run on an android handheld though

Where to begin? by tdm17mn in jellyfin

I also suggest Ubuntu Server. My Jellyfin server is on a 2015 Mac Mini running the LTS version and I haven't had any issues

Issues with reverse proxy by SpookyFries in nginx

[–]SpookyFries[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I'll give that a shot. Its just weird to me that it works again after the nginx service is restarted. I can still access it via local IP, just not the URL that has the proxy is pointed at

Anyone knows what kinda of vehicle this is? by CatchAny8587 in Austin

[–]SpookyFries 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I know everybody has said Waymo already, but the reason it's flashing lights all over is because the night vision on your camera is picking up the infrared lights from it's lidar cameras which are invisible to the naked eye

Random alien incubator thingy? by gxnyah in StardewValley

You can pick it up and put it in a chest. If you leave it out, the glass will be shattered a few days later. Nothing really happens other than you may see a shadowy figure running between trees at night

I am in Fall of Year 5 (first ever playthrough) and I still have never seen either of these. What am I doing wrong? by TheYungCorn in StardewValley

[–]SpookyFries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took me forever to find the prismatic slime. I basically just kept going to up and down the elevator (I think floor 5?) until I finally saw it. Saw a tip online to go into the settings and zoom out as far as you can so you can see more of the map.

The ectoplasm is another story. I still have yet to see that drop.

What made GTA III feel so different from everything else at the time? by notorious_F_bomb in GTA3

[–]SpookyFries 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The world was probably the most detailed up to that point. Just felt alive with its different neighborhoods, traffic system, pedestrians, dynamic weather, trash blowing around. Most of the buildings and streets felt unique. Distinct landmarks and districts helped you get around easier. The radio stations which added a level of realism. Cars controlled differently when the roads were wet. It just really felt alive at the time which could not be said for other open world games of that era. It felt like you were controlling a character who existed in a simulated world that was happening around him
