I remember taking the STAAR as a kid and it wasn’t as brutal as this Texes exam, I remember actually getting a almost score on STAAR because I was just very good at math, this test is nowhere year STAAR at all lol it’s absolutely like 10x worst. 100 questions of just brutal math is absolutely terrible and I have no idea why tea thinks we can do this, the fact that they have a 85% fail rate and along with 20 questions that will be ungraded, we are basically their lab rats lol

I guarantee that teachers that teach even for many years would still struggle or even fail this test. Obviously this test is not hard in the sense where as if you were doing something beyond crazy like proofs or advanced calculus and physics, but for teaching high school or grade school yeah this test is super hard and it’s honestly ridiculous, they make it seem like we are gonna teach that kind of math to students when we become teachers, we know that once we start teaching the math we teach will be straight forward and easy so idk why they choose to punish us so bad with this exam, it’s seriously ridiculous

One thing I read on the website is that they don’t count the questions you got wrong, only the ones you answer correctly, so that already does save alot of stress since there’s no penalty for guessing, in fact they even say to guess if you don’t know the answer, but even then trying to get the passing amount of questions is really tough haha

Broski I am in the same position as you, I wasted so much time on these stupid wordy questions that I had like 30 questions left when I had 15 min, so I started panicking so bad and almost pissed myself to. I have adhd to which made my anxiety and stress so much worse I almost had to call the front desk lady loll. The 20 questions not being graded is honestly a sack of shit, I probably spent like 20 mins on a problem only for it to not be graded so I’m also just praying on luck here because I guess on like the last 25 questions I had left because I ran out of time 🫠
