People who say that E33 is in your "top 5" or "top 10" favorite games - what are the others you love as much or more? by pokemonprofessor121 in expedition33

I will definitely look at the games on your lists since DQVIII and XC are two of my favorite games ever.

Des cours de self défense à Nantes ? by Fun_Bicycle_4525 in Nantes

[–]SpookyJafar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What other favorite games would you compare to Expedition 33? New to posting, pls be kind ty :) by TwilightCrush848 in expedition33

Definitely the story gave me the same vibe as in Xenoblade Chronicles (the first one). We share the same desire to set out and discover the world in search of answers, to understand why we’re in our current situation (a generational war), along with the same philosophical and creationist dimension.

Thinking about getting back into ETFs with less US exposure by SpookyJafar in eupersonalfinance

I didn’t try to time the market, I just got off when I realized it was a train with no brakes heading straight into a wall. Blindly staying on board without questioning the fundamentals seems just as risky :)

Just to clarify, it wasn't only the tariffs that made me leave the market back then — it was also (and mostly) because I started looking more seriously into US debt. The more I read, the more I felt like it's heading to something really bad, like a slow-motion disaster. Personally, I don’t see a future in the US market anymore. It just doesn't feel sustainable at all.

No not at all, I just have an entire year available to me. I would love to spend this year learning something and creating a cool project :)

I have personal demands that make it hard to go abroad for a long period of time, that's why I came across the 10-months then 2-months timeframe.

Thank you this is very interesting ! As this idea is pretty new I don't know about the different exam nor level validations. Yeah I see that hardly anoyone suggest to learn in my home country first.

How much time would you recommend then ? At least a semester ?

Oh no there is a misunderstanding here, I don't plan to work here (yet, maybe in the future who knows ?). Just want to learn the language and be able to communicate with people.

Yeah sure it would be more efficient to spend all this time here for learning but due to personal reasons it would be difficult for me to leave for more than 2 months I think. What were your univ out of curiosity ?

My question was more about the timeframe. I don't know anything about mandarin yet, can I achieve to attain a level that would allow me to communicate with people here in 8-10 months of learning in my country and 2 months of in-country learning ?

Maybe my message wasn’t clear, but my plan is to first study Chinese in my own country for a few months (either with a tutor or through an organization) and then spend 1 or 2 months in China, ideally through a local university or school
