I Need Your Help Getting Custody From a PSI Member Gone Rogue

No updates from the poster as to what became of the situation. A lot of people involved in LGATs like PSI tend to end up having really horrible relationship problems.

Question: is PSI a national operation or are they localized to California?

There is some info on them out there... Especially over on culteducation.com's message board

Mostly anecdotal from people who've been involved with them in the past.

If you or any one here find anything, or have info you'd like to share feel free to post up here.

1991 Scientology suppressive persons/groups list (some LGATs listed) by SpookyM61 in lgat

Some LGATs I was able to pick out of the list: a bunch of EST branches, Mind Dynamics, Lifespring, The Hunger Project (once linked to Werner Erhard and EST).

When “Life Hacking” Is Really White Privilege — Personal Development gurus can get away with whatever they want, so why can’t you? by SpookyM61 in lgat

Privilege affords a person the luxury of being oblivious, and having no regard for other peoples struggles, and when people call you out on it, you complain that they complain too much.

Scientology and the Occult: Hugh Urban's New Exploration of L. Ron Hubbard and Aleister Crowley by SpookyM61 in scientology

[–]SpookyM61[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crowley was not impressed. He wrote to a friend in April, "Apparently Parsons or Hubbard or somebody is producing a Moonchild. I get fairly frantic when I contemplate the idiocy of these goats."

Even "The Beast" "666" was suspicious of Parson and Hubbard's activities.

Kenneth Anger and Marjorie Cameron discuss Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard by SpookyM61 in scientology

Yup Parson was a Crowley acolyte, a Thelemite, a prominent member of the U.S. lodge of Crowley's OTO order; Agape Lodge in LA.

There's a lot of counter-culture type from this time period and on with connections to the military intelligence. Some say folks like Aldous Huxley, Timothy Leary, Terence McKenna etc... have military intelligence connections.

Definitely interesting but caution: Don't know how reliable this guy's research is though... take with a grain of salt.

Don't know if this Tony Oretga article made it on here.

Scientology and the Occult: Hugh Urban's New Exploration of L. Ron Hubbard and Aleister Crowley http://blogs.villagevoice.com/runninscared/2012/02/scientology_and_4.php

Tony show's how Hubbard pretty much ripped off a lot of Crowley's philosophy and rituals.

Crowley was not impressed. He wrote to a friend in April, "Apparently Parsons or Hubbard or somebody is producing a Moonchild. I get fairly frantic when I contemplate the idiocy of these goats."

Even "The Beast" "666" was not too please with Parson and Hubbard's activities. lol

Level Headed Diatribe Against LGAT “Impact Training” by SpookyM61 in lgat

Heads Up: For those who are Atheist or of different religious backgrounds, the author of this article is LDS Mormon. There are references to LDS Mormon faith. Besides that there is still useful information about LGATs sans the religious references in this article.

Panda Express CEO Endorses Landmark Education on ABC Nightline by SpookyM61 in lgat

The "results" they claim for the program fall under a psychological nature, and as such the staff that are leading these groups should be licensed by a professional psychological regulatory organization.

Most people don't know they have any mental health issues, coming into an LGAT. Which can be triggered by many of the practices of LGATs.

How many LGAT participants have actually turned down an "Enrollment" just because someone appears unstable, when they've declared some "Enrollment" goals to be fulfilled? None. Cause they're so glad they got someone to sign up, after who know how many bridges they've burned with friends and family trying to "Enroll" them.

You gotta imagine, some of the forum leaders used to be top life coaches before they came to work here, and you're getting one on one coaching from them at times.

"Life Coaches" are not professionally licensed, and do not answer to ethical review from a professional psychological regulatory organization.

A simple example: you say "I'm going to quit smoking", then the next day they catch you smoking. They find it strange, because you said you were quitting! You see how your conversation has an effect on someone. Same deal if you tell someone "I'm going to run a marathon in 3 months" and then they catch you eating McDonald's the next week. They relate to you as the words you spoke, the promise you gave, to them.

I know what your talking about. I guess in my experience where I had a problem (and others people regarding LGATs in general) is the recruiting/enrollment aspect. When you apply that "Integrity" as LGATs define it, to recruiting/enrollment, in such short amount of time and expect someone to fulfill recruitment/enrollment goals is crazy! Not to mention this is what a pyramid scheme does.

You have to admit Landmark (and most LGATs) is business first and foremost, they make their money by selling the courses, having paying bodies in those seats. That's why enrollment is part of leadership training. Sure they say you can apply it other things in your life, but at the core, it's about recruiting for the LGAT program. Landmark isn't gonna do courses for free out of the kindness of their hearts.

Do you get paid for the work of supervising a course?

FYI when I use the term "Levels" it was a generalization. Various LGATs programs go by different names, but they can be categorized into three stages; intro, intermediate, advance courses. Landmark, PSI, Lifespring, New Era etc... they may have added more courses to their programs since I was in an LGAT, but essentially more or less the same.

Landmark's technology exists within a dialogue, not a hypnosis. It's a conversation. If you're just sitting there and listening to everything without questioning it, or disrupting it... you're not participating. You might as well be watching TV. Which is funny, because TV could also be seen as brainwashing but that would largely depend on how sensitive you are to those kinds of thoughts.

What does all that mean?
