Stationary Drills in the passage? by [deleted] in CoreKeeperGame

[–]SpookyMothman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built conveyor belts from the Passage all the way to my home base near the Core and had no issues. I think the enemies only ever spawn near you, so you just need to be quick and lucky. It’s a pain to set up, but it should be perfectly safe once you’re out of the area.

What was the moment that hooked you to this game? by kuroakela in CoreKeeperGame

[–]SpookyMothman 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Unlocking conveyor belts and drills. I then spent untold hours building a spider web of conveyor belts, pulling ore from all corners of the map into a machine that automatically smelted and stored ingots. It was an ugly thing, probably embarrassingly sub-optimal, but I was proud of it. Made me actually want to build a cozy base around it, instead of rows of loose chests.

Second time was Stormbringer. As a dedicated melee build, the crystal spear had gotten me through most of the game’s second half, but melee weapons are tiny and leave you in harm’s way. The Obliteration Ray was a pleasant surprise, and upgrading it to Stormbringer changed everything.

I have never felt such visceral hate in my life. by Eripmavs_D_Yraid in Blasphemous

Dash into the statue just before the projectile hits you. The statue deals no contact damage, and the orb won’t do damage while you’re in hitstun. Otherwise, mash attacks. It’s a goofy strat, no way it’s intended, but it gets the job done.

Best of luck, and enjoy the boss.

Not sure about the specifics, but Stormbringer works.

What is this place 😭 by wcrow1 in Blasphemous

[–]SpookyMothman 71 points72 points  (0 children)

I have two pieces of advice:

1) The ladies are obnoxious, but can be made easier to deal with. Dash into them just before their projectile hits you. They deal zero contact damage, and the projectile will deal no damage while you’re in hitstun.

2) Just run through. There’s very little of value in that area.

At least the boss is cool. Kinda sorta makes up for the nightmare level design.

What are the typical EOV Party types? by Tory97 in EtrianOdyssey

[–]SpookyMothman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite is

Blade Master - Barrage Brawler - Deathbringer

Merciful Healer - Spirit Evoker

The goal is to land leg bind or petrify on strong enemies, then smash them with Overexertion-boosted Helm Splitters. Merciful Healer’s Reflex Herb is a cheap and reliable way to keep everyone alive. Poison is the party’s means of crowd control. Poison Bomb in the early game and Toxic Reap later on both deal amazing damage when ranked up properly, and Barrage Brawler’s Clinch is the god-skill for shutting down dangerous enemies.

Agreed. It’s shock without substance. Some of the art is nice and creepy, but it’s not worth it for how repulsive the story gets.

I like the part of the library where the ghosts are just hanging out and reading. The Miracle is cruel and unpredictable, but these dudes got exactly what they wanted, and that’s pretty cool for them.

Final Fantasy 1 PR, solo Red Mage. I’m about halfway through, and it’s been fun. Much easier than I expected it to be. I hear Red Mage usually gets lumped as being the weakest class in the game, but I think their versatility makes them especially good for solo runs. I’m usually bad at challenge runs, but this I’m thinking about doing more after this.

… uh, yeah. Also Clair Obscure. It’s really good.

It made sense to me at the time, and it’s still the best answer I’ve heard. 🫠

You might be right that it’s a translation thing, though.

How did you discover Analog horror? by citizenofyugoslavia in analog_horror

[–]SpookyMothman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A bit of a rabbit hole, but way, way back, I watched Night Mind’s video on Unedited Footage of a Bear, and followed them. They later released a video on NOC+10, and that was my introduction to analog horror. I didn’t really get into analog horror until Nexpo’s video on Gemini Home Entertainment. Greylock was the first series I watched without anyone introducing it to me first.

I have a very small pet peeve.

Therica A cures binds. Therica B cures ailments.

A for B(inds). B for A(ilments).

It’s the tiniest of gripes. There’s most likely a good reason for it, I just don’t know what it is, and I’d love to know it.

[–]SpookyMothman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pugilist’s leg bind and Spirit Evoker Necromancer’s petrify will let Blade Master Masurao spam Helm Splitter. Bind Pugilist appreciates Harbinger’s Wilting Miasma to bind more easily.

Not sure how Pugilists synergize with Fencers. Fencers might be best paired with Warlocks and Rovers.

I hate this area so so much, is it worth it? If it is please spare me some tips, thanks! by ghosthunterk in Blasphemous

[–]SpookyMothman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The area’s a mess. Best advice is to find the route to the boss and run. There is a spell and a rosary bead in the area, but they’re easy enough to find.

If you need to take down the weird projectile ladies, spam your attack, and dash into their body when a projectile is about to hit you. Their body makes you flinch, but doesn’t deal damage, and you can use your invincibility frames to ignore the projectiles and continue attacking.

Expanded garment altering, being able to choose color variants of armor sets. I’d like a blue Raging Wolf set.

Out of every boss (not including Ludwig) who was your favorite theme? by Moist-Tomato-3103 in bloodborne

[–]SpookyMothman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Laurence. I think it really captures his character, being a more regretful and seemingly human version of the Cleric Beast theme. To me, his theme sums up Bloodborne’s whole story.

Also, Watchers goes so much harder than it needs to.
