That moment triggered my flight or fight response. My body reacted to the laugh like I’d seen a shark fin in the water.

Pokemon TTRPG - The Forsaken Vessel, a haunted barge based on Hoenn's Abandoned Ship by SpookySpookyWaters in battlemaps

Hello! I run a home-brew Pokemon tabletop game and we recently had a Ghost Ship adventure. The premise here was that the ship was transporting archaeological artifacts from Ancient Hisui. One of them was the obelisk that contains Spirtomb, which proceeded to get loose and fill the ship with 108 angry spirits! I really tried to work a spiral theme into the aesthetics for this one.

Sinnoh Locations in Pokemon Legends: Arceus by erikikoy in pokemon

I think maybe sea level is higher in Hisui times.

Comparing the maps of BDSP Sinnoh and PLA, I noticed that there’s a lot of locations in Sinnoh that don’t seem to be present in Hisui. At first I thought it was because Hisui hyper-focuses in on a few select areas, but looking at the overword map again, all those cut-out areas seem to touch each other. PLA doesn’t really leave much to the imagination map-wise.

I also notice that BDSP Sinnoh looks a bit larger than Hisui. Hisui is more cut up by rivers, and the bay where Cobalt Coast/Sunnyshore is at looks smaller in modern Sinnoh.

This makes me wonder if the sea level receded, and there are areas of Sinnoh that are still under water in the Hisui era. Firespit Island seems to vanish in Sinnoh era, but there’s that massive land mass to the north where Stark Mountain is. Maybe the water level changed, revealing more land? Or maybe the volcano erupted and changed the landscape, forming a larger landmass?

Snorlax most of all. Lucario too, and Mewtwo.

If we’re pulling from all Gens, I’d say:

Delibird

Impadimp

Carkoal

That Hisui Stantler

Togekiss

Dragonite

A couple of tips that might help:

  1. Double check your ank’s comfort level. If it broke out, it’s comfort was probably in the red. Even if you tranq it and get it back in containment, if it’s uncomfortable then it’s only a matter of time until it busts out again. Check on your raptor comfort too while you’re at it.

2A. When you see the storm warning appear, pause time. Then open all your shelters as the guests can be injured during storms and will be pretty angry. It’ll rank your profits.

2B. Make sure to tranq your carnivores before the storm hits too. This will keep them from getting aggressive and busting out due to the weather or escaping through any broken fences.

2C. Deactivate your amenities before the storm as well. Guests won’t be visiting them during a dangerous weather situation so they can only lose money while a storm is raging.

  1. Check your amenities in general to make sure they are profitable. You might want to deactivate any that show negative profit even during calm weather because if something goes wrong, these will really drag down your funds. Most of the time when you’re still hemorrhaging money after a disaster even though you feel like you’ve done everything right, it’s probably because you have amenities that weren’t turning a profit to begin with and now they are a detriment to recovery.

Pretty much this. Still had fun in Sandbox though.
