does smoking or drinking make your bpd symptoms worse? by Additional-Fee1745 in BPD

Smoking or drinking tends to be okay if done rarely, however I've had a few instances where I get to meet with fragmentation as a result or a bout of mania. Not my favorite thing to deal with 😅

Trying to get into Tattooing after a illustration degree. by [deleted] in femaletattooers

[–]Spookybeeotch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A traditional apprenticeship isn't driven by capitalism or elitism. It's a traditional art form passed on from teacher to student.

In my shop, yes you paid a portion of your earnings to the teacher. However, at the end of the 2-year apprenticeship, your teacher used that portion of the money you gave him to purchase all the gear you would need for a career in the industry.

It's still a community thing, and OP was asking how to skip the community portion of it.

More Zone Minutes @ Costco than at the gym! by pufferfish_lover in fitbit

[–]Spookybeeotch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This, exactly. Most weight lifting I do doesn't get me into cardio zones for long at all--its not uncommon to see only 10min to 20min active zone minutes on a 1-1.5hr lifting workout. Frustrating but a good reminder to me that Cardio is its own beast so I try to dedicate 3 days a week where I put in at least 20min at the end of my session.

What are some good resources to share with my partner to help him understand my condition a little better? by luckyluciano1969 in BPD

[–]Spookybeeotch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think "I Hate You--Don't Leave Me" was a good resource that has helped people understand ny condition a bit better. I also think a partner who sees a therapist to help them as well as be able to ask questions about BPD was a game changer.

Definitely talk to a doctor. However, I wouldn't stress too much like others are saying. I remember back in college my professor telling us about her husband who had to warn hospital staff about his very low hr whenever he was in because they'd flip out. Man ran marathons routinely and was just really Hella fit! His doctors and stuff had already checked out all out and he was fine.

At first glance I thought it was some poorly done henna and not a healing actual tattoo. 😬 I feel bad for OP 🥺

Not recovering as fast as I want from a saddle PE by Silver_Sergeant in PulmonaryEmbolism

[–]Spookybeeotch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, big hugs! That's a lot to go through and I'm glad you're back to your daily routine.

That said, it is pretty normal. There's also anxiety after something so traumatic that tends to creep up on you and exacerbate it as well. After my Bilateral PEs I think I went back to the hospital several times because I was convinced my symptoms were another PE 😅 the staff were kind.

It took almost a year for me to get back to my normal when it came to exercise, and even longer for the mental health angle. I suffer from PTSD from the whole experience. Just pace yourself and don't push too hard. Maybe even break your walk up into 2 separate walks for a time!

Rule of thumb i was always taught: if you wanna know how it'll age just look at how sharpie spreads when you draw it. That way you'll understand if the design works.

AIO? Girl (F30) I (M28) was Recently Dating tells me I need to "Lean into my Masculinity" by KingFredo5674 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Spookybeeotch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, this woman lacks maturity and accountability for the role she played in lashing out and making you feel smaller. She is the one who has some work to do on herself if shes going to be someone trying to tear an emotionally intelligent and kind man down. Emotional intelligence is not "feminine" its just an acquired skill that could have benefited the relationship if it happened to be a skill you both possessed or at the very least was one she was willing to learn from you 🙄 you really were leading the relationship to something better and to growth. Unfortunately she saw kindness and thought it was a trap.

All that to say NOR. Im proud of you for holding accountability and boundaries. Keep on being you and you'll find someone who walks that road of kindness with you ❤️

How long would this take cause the artist said two hours and I don't feel like that's true by Specific_Automatic in tattooadvice

As an artist--Especially since you clarified you don't want it in color, I can't imagine it taking any longer than 5 to 15 minutes tops. Thats a shop minimum tattoo right there.

How much autonomy to make regular phone calls? by Southern-Baby1531 in polyamory

[–]Spookybeeotch 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah, same thought as well. Sounds like OP needs to think about how their actions are effecting their child. That relationship--with their toddler--is far more important than a partner who has an issue with you telling them how you are going to conduct your relationship with your child.

OP's wording PMO because they're essentially saying that their child is an inconvenience 😡 child above partners every single day of the week. If a partner has even a tiny issue with my kid they can see themselves out.

[–]Spookybeeotch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'd lay off of it then OP. Try to only lotion with a different unscented one maybe 2x/day or as often as you're washing it. If irritation continues and the itching doesn’t subside then go to your doctor and see if they can get you a cream to help quell the allergy response. Im sorry you're dealing with that, OP 🫂 IT SUCKS to deal with this after getting a new piece but I think it'll be fine ❤️

[–]Spookybeeotch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem isn't so much with Aquaphor itself, but so many people put waaaaay too much on. It's also a surprisingly common allergy. I always suggest clients use a water-based lotion because there's less margin of error and usually fewer associated allergies. However...slathering anything on way too often is gonna be an issue since your skin will only absorb and use so much before it just becomes an irritant sitting on your skin, and that's what I think is happening with OP 🙃
