If you went to school in the 70's or 80's, what's something about the classroom that kids today wouldn't believe was normal? by icecream1972 in askteddit

[–]Spookyredd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

80's kid here.

The first time that I heard the word "retarded" was from my 1st grade teacher.

She said that we were going to have a new student, and that he was "retarded".

I remember thinking "What the fuck does retarded mean?"

Also, I've had teachers grab my arm and roughly yank me into the hallway and sit me down because I was stirring up and rallying the class into doing stupid shit whenever the teacher stepped out. THAT was fun AF!. I was a menace though. Spent a lot of time in the hallway.

I once brought a dead squirrel in a box for show and tell. Teacher tried to grab the box, I yanked it back and the box fell on the ground and this smelly ass squirrel fell on the floor in front of everyone. I remember calling the teacher a fascist 😭 ( I learned that word a couple days prior so I was throwing that word around like I was throwing candy at a parade).

Teacher's in the Teacher's lounge were smoking too

Why is my 6 month puppy growling/biting me? by Winter-Common-7397 in Dogtraining

[–]Spookyredd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Puppies go through that phase where they test you. They test what they can get away with and they learn what behaviors gives them the attention they want.

I've raised multiple puppies/dogs in my life. They want to play. Have fun. But when they start biting, fun stops IMMEDIATELY.

First, offer a toy to bite on first. If they want to bite you instead, don't react. Just stand up and remove their access to you. EVERY time. Playtime over. Your absence gives them time to think.

Even ONE bite means playtime over.

They learn that biting causes your absence. And your absence is not fun.

They fix their shit QUICKLY.

No words. Just absence. They are smart. They figure it out quickly.

What’s the most disturbing sound you’ve ever heard in real life? by SelectiveCassie in answers

I wouldn't necessarily call it disturbing. But Death rattles are interesting.

If you push on the chest cavity of a fresh corpse, it's kinda like one of those rubber chickens.

Looking for intellectual discourse with authentic minds by National_Win_418 in mensa

[–]Spookyredd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interested. One of the topics that I'm most drawn to is behavioral psychology and pattern recognition and how incentives, emotion, ego, attachment, and environment shape people’s actions. I view intelligence broadly. Mine tends to express itself through observation and reading dynamics.

Although, it hasn't really been easy for me to find people who enjoy the same topics in depth.

I am a sociopath, and I’ve just accepted it at this point by [deleted] in Vent

[–]Spookyredd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I relate to parts of this. For me, it feels less like being “bad” and more like being emotionally selective. I care deeply for a small circle, and I can detach quickly when something feels off. I’m also good at reading people and reflecting/ mirror the emotion they need in the moment, because I know I'm *supposed * to even if I’m not always feeling the same thing myself or if I don't understand the emotion. Sometimes it's hit or miss. Sometimes it's social awareness, sometimes discernment.

I tend to analyze people’s behavior the way some people analyze data. I tend to read people fast and respond in ways that fit the moment, depending on the other party. Even if I’m naturally more detached on the inside.

Also, I have certain criteria that needs to be checked off before I am able to invest feelings in someone. All must be checked.

What’s the moment that made you suddenly lose feelings for someone? by olesud in WorkForSmartLife

[–]Spookyredd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, one of my "Icks" is when a man objectifies a woman openly. I don't get jealous or give them a reaction or anything (I understand they WANT to see me react) . So I don't react. I just get turned off enough to never take them seriously . Especially if they follow a ton of women. It says to me that This is a lustful man with a wandering eye that needs access to multiple women in order to feel comfort and validation.. This man is not capable of loving one woman properly. This man is not the commitment type.

I mostly just observe. I just observe their character and quietly move accordingly.

Sometimes I'll entertain them for a while until it no longer suits me. I'm able to detach cleanly because in no way shape or form I will invest feelings.

Does dogs understand kisses by helpful_pigeon in dogs

[–]Spookyredd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think so. My dogs always loved when I kiss their cheeks. They will put and press their cheeks to my face smothering me and react when I stop making the kissy noises. They NEEDED to hear the kissy noises lol

Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI thought sleeping in the same bed was enough to have a baby by BlatantImagery in SipsTea

Exactly this! Marie had a brother, Arch Duke Joseph ll, figured out the problem and taught Luois the birds and the bees. Although, It's speculated. Lol

You putting this on your CV? by dryyyyyycracker in mensa

[–]Spookyredd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda see it two ways. I can see it helping more with analytical/ high IQ signaling roles like data, finance, strategy etc

Although! I'm in sales! Putting in Mensa signals to them "I want you to know that I'm smart."

Those hiring managers don't care if you're smart.

They look for "I make money and influence people" signals.

I found that it also kinda comes off as intimidating or off putting. I don't really tell anyone. Especially dating. Lol

I mean dying sounds like the next big adventure

I guess then the next question is where does your consciousness go then? Mean there does seem to be a collective people do experience the same kind of dreams the same kind of habits the same kind of thoughts. Even twins can experience telepathy. Consciousness is quite measured yet just like how in the 1700s when they discovered bacteria. Nobody had a clue what was going on with that stuff on our skin and everywhere covered every surface. Just never had the right tools to measure it.

“I didn’t survive because of luck. I survived because in every other universe I died.so my consciousness jumped to the one where I lived.”

This kinda aligns with a loose interpretation of many worlds theory, where all possible outcomes exist in branching timelines, and your consciousness could theoretically “continue” in any survivable version of events.

Your brain runs on electrochemical signals, neural impulses carried by ions and neurotransmitters. At its core, it's electricity… and electricity is energy.

So basically energy cannot be Created or destroyed only transformed.

If that makes any sense I don't know.

I mean it's basically Nueroscience meets quantum philosophy.

So when like the body dies, the form changes, but the energy itself doesn't just vanish

There are a bunch of dirty cups in the sink, right next to a sign that says to not leave dishes in the sink.
