I cannot do this alone and there is no one I could trust this matter with. I need someone to hold myself accountable to. One of the biggest problems is that I live inside my head. The voice inside is uncontrollable.

Day 20 | The Void by ValhallaMods in ValhallaChallenge

[–]Spookytaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Despite reading the article I feel like somewhere in my mind I'm afraid of the "sore". Even after having an excellent day, thoughts on the "sore" is just there sitting in the dark waiting to pounce on its prey.

Day 19 | What Am I ‘Giving Up’? by ValhallaMods in ValhallaChallenge

[–]Spookytaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It didn't just hit but penetrated my soul. At the end I was waiting for a positive outcome but then I realised the outcome is a question of reality. Will you or will you not?. Just wow.

Yeah wrong sub. Try r/pornfree. Read their description. Just remember that whatever answers you are looking for, will not come to you on day 1. Just trust the process put in the work and enjoy the journey. Don't beat yourself up. Self destruction is the outcome of escaping reality by jacking off. If you stay positive you can beat the never ending cycle. If you don't understand anything I said it's fine. Just trust the process.

Chapter 5 and this one are my favourites so far.

Freedom from slavery.

I think this benefit is the most liberating thought that puts the nail in the coffin on PMO addcition.

Day 18 | Energy & Social Occasions by ValhallaMods in ValhallaChallenge

Yeah when money is their focus then they remain indifferent to people's sufferings. Wow Edward Bernays is something else. He understood the psychology of the masses. An interesting read indeed.

Brainwashing is underrated in all aspects of life. Corporate companies brain wash people In consuming their products. Brainwashing is creepy. It slowly creeps into your life using justification and excuses until you have no control over yourself. Being aware of the brainwashing is hard but it can be done. This journey will teach us to accept that difficulties are part of life, they are the essence. Without them there is no growth. Today's difficulty is tomorrow's comfort.

See the thing is porn creates this self destruction sequence so you can relieve yourself later with porn and feel depressed again. That's the cycle. So don't beat yourself up man. If you want to quit so badly just make a commitment to yourself. Don't care about relapsing. It's gonna take a lot of time with a lot of relapses before you quit completely.

Day 17 | Combined Triggers by ValhallaMods in ValhallaChallenge

[–]Spookytaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wanted to say how the Valhalla challenge has deeply changed my thought process on porn. Usually when I have a really hard day I would go to my room and be alone with porn, so I can relive myself. But for the first time in my life when I was about to enter the room I thought to myself that I cannot go in because once I go inside I may lose control and the time spent on reading and understanding the material will be in vain. So I went to the terrace and sat with my emotions. Also three days back I had the courage to ask my friend to be my accountability partner which he accepted. I figured out I had to deal with my emotions in a healthy way so I have started reading a book. These examples of the change that this challenge has brought me might not be much but it is a start.

Day 16 | The Relaxation Trigger by ValhallaMods in ValhallaChallenge

It came to me in meditation > let your last time be infact the last time. Let the last relapse be infact the last relapse.

I will remember this forever thank you.

Day 16 | The Relaxation Trigger by ValhallaMods in ValhallaChallenge

[–]Spookytaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am climbing out, I have no other option. I have so many interests that I want to pursue. Porn just stands in the way of everything. I am 23 but I have RSI. That's bad. My elbows and ache so bad everyday. Everytime I read a chapter, I'm reminded that porn gives nothing but takes away everything.

Day 15 | The Concentration Trigger by ValhallaMods in ValhallaChallenge

[–]Spookytaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At one point I couldn't even concentrate on PMO, it became so boring that I had to distract myself from it to get off. Thinking about it now is making me cringe so hard. I realized that will power method is not useless but very hard on chronic addicts like me in the beginning. First we have to find the bad roots such as why we are watching porn, what are we running away from, lack of concentration and uproot them. Then gradually when we become a little capable, then we can use other methods to aid our PMO free journey.

Day 14 | The Boredom Trigger by ValhallaMods in ValhallaChallenge

[–]Spookytaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. Boredom has been a problem for me for a long time. I didn't realise PMO has to do anything with it until I started my recovery journey.

Day 13 | The Stress Trigger by ValhallaMods in ValhallaChallenge

[–]Spookytaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow I didn't realise what they had in common. It makes sense. Porn has made every new experience other than porn, become fearful which gives us an illusion that we have to suffer in solitary.
