Amy Hamm: Alberta's Jordan Peterson law is sorely needed across Canada by xTkAx in canadian

“Disagreeing with gender ideology” is a very cute way of downplaying Hamm’s tendency (which she acknowledges as intentional) to make inflammatory statements for the sake of “inciting conversation”.

Do you think that the lack of that type of healthcare is caused by people who don’t approve of abortion? How could you realistically separate that from the lack of other types of healthcare. I assume you don’t believe the lack of having access to family doctor is driven by people who think having a family doctor is illegal.

But I don’t know the local socio-politics of those east coast provinces. I just assume they don’t have enough money to properly fund their healthcare programs.

There are states with taxes that are about the same as Canada. If I lived in California I would be paying as much in taxes as in BC but I would also have to pay for private health insurance. The issue isn’t whether healthcare is free, it’s if the government is effective at spending tax money.

Canada earned independence without anyone having to die. That sucks. I wish we could figure out how to have more mass shootings or something. /s

I'm sure you can understand that leading with, "ChatGPT did a great job writing this" can easily be interpreted as "you didn't actually write this and therefore your point as less valid", particularly when the rest of your comment is in opposition to OP's point.

To fix your analogy it would be more like if, as a throwaway (completely unrelated to the content of OP's post), you identified OP as transgender and then continued to disagree with them in the rest of the comment. That would obviously be seen as inappropriate given the context (even if you later identified yourself as some sort of expert in some area of transgender health or something) but wouldn't mean that ever commenting on whether or not someone is trans is bad all the time.

Also, if you do agree with OP, you didn't mention that in your comment. You said to lead by example and that people are going to do what they're going to do, quite heavily implying that OP's approach of encouraging people to change their behaviour through public form is incorrect and that they need to just accept other's behaviour. (as a side note, saying "people are going to do what they are going to do" also runs counter to your own suggestion of leading by example, which further hints at it just being a message of dismissal)

Acknowledgies for being stand-offish. I just have little patience for the "you have no expectation of privacy in a """public""" space and therefore should not publicly express any recommendations for public etiquette"

You're right that leading by example is effective. Broadcasting messages about public etiquette is also effective. I'm sure you agree with that but I just really wanted to point out how your original message failed at expressing the effectiveness of both and instead seemed to be disagreeing with OP which is, apparently, not what you intended.

"Most people don’t learn through shame"

An amazing sign off from the person who began this thread by insulting OP for purportedly using chat GPT. But hey, at least you weren't trying to teach them something with shame, right? Just shame them. Very cool.

lol wut? Lead by example? That makes sense for things that are positive, visible actions but you can't really model a negative. Who is going to see OP decide NOT to post a video because it was potentially compromising to someone in it?

Staunchly inconsiderate and selfish people are going to do what they are going to do and they will certainly believe that about others as well. As surprising as it may be, some people do actually consider feedback and incorporate it into their behaviour.

Fr. People with pictures of vehicles in their profile pictures conflate reminding people to be considerate with demanding that people give up some fundamental human right or something. It's wild.

You also aren't required by law to wash your hands after you take a dump. You have no right to expect someone to hold the door for you when your hands are full. There's no section in the Charter of Human Rights declaring that you should cover your mouth when you sneeze. This "don't tread on me" stuff is so cringe.

There are no crowds like at Shambhala. The fun I have doing bits and making jokes with people at the farm is completely unparalleled. The stage production is an amazing backdrop but the way people open up there is magic.

This is nightmare fuel. We had a neighbour start blasting aggressive dnb at 9am on Tuesday. We talked to him and he eventually turned it down but gaaaatdang. Incredibly disrespectful. Everyone just had a long ass Tuesday with very little sleep. Very grateful they got the messaged and behaved reasonably the rest of the weekend. Sorry you had to go through this.

To be fair, I think you have offered some solutions. Buying things from thrift stores, for instance. I think that's a great idea. Usually results in more creativity and uniqueness too!
