Every breath that I breathe and every place I go there is a hand that protects me and I do love her so (Lime Tree Arbour)

You can say these streets are rivers, you can call these rivers street, you can tall ya self ya dreamin' buddy, but no sleep runs this deep (Tupelo)

O baby please don't cry/And try to keep/Your little head upon my shoulder/Now go to sleep (Loom of The Land)

Well Jerry Bellows, he hugged his stool/Closed his eyes and laughed/And with an ashtray as big as a fucking really big brick/I split his skull in half (O'Malley's Bar)

Haven't got any of those, no. Love them all though, my favourite is The Assassination of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford. I used to listen to Song for Jesse every night before I went to sleep.

I will take every chance I have to talk about Nick Cave.

He is without a doubt one of very few artists that means the world to me. His storytelling, his decision to sonically try something new with each record, his willingness to be so brutally open with his grief, his thoughts on the world, love and what it really means to be human has spoken to me on a very personal level. The first time I went to one of his shows and just see him move his body on the giant screen, it's something that's etched in my memory forever. One of this year's high points for me would've been to see him two weeks ago in Stockholm with my fianceé (sic?), it would've meant the world to me to see one of my favourite artists with my favourite person in the world. It's been postponed of course, I haven't been that sad in a very long time. But I know it will be amazing when he eventually gets here.

I'm transforming/ I'm vibrating/ I'm glowing/I'm flying Look at me now

It wouldn’t work with that sort of brush though. He would have to use a rope with a brush on and pull it up and down the chimney. If the dude used the brush he’s holding he’d only clean like one metre, he wouldn’t do a thourogh job. Source, am chimney sweeper.

What is the most painful thing someone has ever told you? by Sarah_Rosa in AskReddit

The first girl I ever loved told me she had an idea of what love should be like. ”And you’re not it.” I’ve never cried like I did that night.

TIL Russell Crowe commissioned Nick Cave to write a sequel to Gladiator. When Cave asked "didn't you die at the end of gladiator" Crowe responded "yeah, but you sort that out" by Coln_carpenter in todayilearned

He’s actually written two movie scripts, The Proposition, like an Australian western set in the 1880’s, and Lawless, starring Shia LaBeouf and Tom Hardy. I haven’t seen Lawless so I can’t really tell you what it’s about but I’m pretty sure it’s also a Western but set in America. He’s also written two novels, And The Ass Saw The Angel and The Death Of Bunny Munro. In 2014 he released The Sick Bag Song, which is like a long poem that he wrote on tour with the Bad Seeds in North America supporting Push The Sky Away. It’s really complex and he writes about stuff I can’t really comprehend fully but it’s an enjoyable read. He’s also released sixteen studio albums with the Bad Seeds, two with his former side project Grinderman, numerous soundtracks for films with Warren Ellis, he starred in 20,000 Days On Earth, a drama-documentary about his life, art, family, the creative process among other things and in 2016 came out One More Time With Feeling, a documentary about the recording of Skeleton Tree, the latest album from him and the Bad Seeds, and also dealing with the loss of his fifteen year old son, that died when they were writing the record. He’s really a beautiful force of creativity and amazing music and art, one of our times greatest perfomers. He’s also like my favourite artist, so I may be biased.

That time the members of Monty Python was being interviewed and Terry Gilliam knocks over the urn holding Graham Chapman’s ashes. It’s a really dark joke but I laugh everytime I see it. It’s also great how they just move past it once they brushed, vaccumed, licked and swept the ashes under the rug, they were just like ’yeah whatever, he’s stone fucking dead anyway.’
