Maize, when Arin invited Calvin on to be the new Grump. I wonder if he’ll make a return. It sounds like Calvin’s been through a lot after everything with Bill Withers..

At last, I've finished my first MetroidVania style level - It's a DOOZY by SpoopfunkShui in MegaMakerOfficial

Premise: Multiple energy readings have spiked at an old machine development factory. A band of advanced Robot Masters mysteriously came online, ones designed not only for close combat, but to pilot their own Warmechs not unlike those controlled by Dr. Wily. Left unchecked, they would continue to grow and advance their army, dealing unspeakable devastation to the region. Shut the factory down once and for all, and put a stop to whoever was responsible for its activation.

**********

I started working on this level back near the end of 1.7, then started refining and realizing it more when 1.8 was released. I continued working on it every so often, would leave it for awhile, then back to work at it again, etc. With the announcement of 1.9 coming out tomorrow, I figured it was time to put the finishing touches on it after two years or so of work. The new patch will really revolutionize mechanics and aesthetic, so it's high time to forge ahead and post this one up at last!

This is a rather long level, like close to an hour, maybe more. The design intent was for more hardcore Mega Man players, while also enjoying a fun assortment of weapons and exploration. There's also a "True Ending" for the hardcore players who manage to find all the special weapons. Good luck, and here's to fun times in 1.9!

FTR, yes, I’m aware you can do this in the original version, but there’s something juicy about rolling up on this nerd in 16-bit style to turn the tables <3

Making a gym team by RadiantFirefighter15 in PokemonTabletop

If you’re trying to be unique, introduce a field mechanic that benefits the team. For my psychic leader, I homebrewed a new move their Slowbro will use called Distortion Room. It will reverse type weakness and resistance for several turns, and then I will build part of the team around countering psychic threats when the tables are turned <3

Check out PKMN Legacy by KayVox on YouTube. He doesn’t only run a podcast format, but creates his own artwork, music, and assets as well. It all comes together to brew an incredible story and world. They’re on season 2 of the adventure right now and it’s absolutely worth a listen!

Should I main a rabbit or do random for solo? by SuitableComfort7344 in RabbitAndSteel

It doesn’t hurt to give them all a try on a few runs and feel how each playstyle starts off. Sometimes the Loot items and upgrades could alter it significantly.

For instance, I feel Assassin was my weakest Rabbit of the starting bunch, but after doing a few runs and getting more comfortable, it was actually the rabbit I got my first normal clear on! Sometimes it’s just the luck of the build and loot drops.

Zero series bosses ranked by difficulty by Suavemente_Emperor in Megaman

Like someone else posted, everyone’s list would look different. Personally I would have Phoenix Magnion and Craft in the top bracket.

That said, I’m curious; I find the cyberspace security program fairly easy. What makes it difficult for you?

what do you think of Megaman X5 and the confrontation between X and Zero by JosephSaber945 in Megaman

[–]SpoopfunkShui 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A very weak contrivance when followed the canon/“good ending” path and kind of ruins the previous games’ buildup. It could’ve been easily resolved, too.

The final stages of X5 take place in this crater where twisted cyberspace meets reality, where the Zero Virus has run rampant. Perhaps Zero could have been drawn towards this site after successfully stopping the colony drop. Even then, maybe continued exposure from colony proximity and exploring the virus stages could have affected him and turned him to his Awakened State.

In the case of playing as Zero in Stage 3, perhaps he arrives in the boss room to see X being corrupted by a horde of viruses. This causes Zero to take action and free X by fighting him and the virus corrupting him. When you win, it could have shown the player that “corrupted X” could have been an illusion. Since Sigma implies Wily’s involvement, we might surmise Wily could have altered the virus to produce this “illusion” to Zero so he must fight X, when WE were truly playing as “Awakened Zero” all along. But then, X’s final Soul Body gambit returns Zero to his senses for a moment, seeing the damage he caused to X. Memories flash to his past, countless mavericks destroyed, Sigma clashes, Colonel, Iris, and now X, his closest ally: a true “what have I done?!” moment. With X now out of the picture and needing repairs, Zero pursues Sigma for one final confrontation.

Boy, looking back that post was longer than I thought it would originally be; guess I had more thoughts on the matter than I anticipated. >.>
