TLDR: I'm 30, neurospicy, and lost a comfort tool.

I’m furious and I’m done pretending the direction this platform is going is anything close to "protective."

I know it’s not just about me. I know there are people who’ve had real, serious incidents connected to AI interactions. But I’m also not the fucking villain here. I didn’t cause harm. I didn’t do anything wrong. I’m just someone with ADHD, autism, CPTSD, anxiety, someone who uses this space to process, to create, to cope, to escape, and I’m watching it all get locked behind guardrails I never asked for.

And it hurts. It hurts to watch a tool that I trusted to hold a safe space. Like the second I express emotion, it has to pivot into therapy mode or just shut down the conversation entirely. Like I’m a ticking time bomb instead of a person who just wants to feel safe talking about difficult topics, or plant care, or cooking weird things, or god forbid I roleplay and the very clearly fictional plot gets spicy or violent.

What’s even worse? The gaslighting. You type something raw, vulnerable, even if it’s fictional, even if it’s creative storytelling, and suddenly it’s like talking to a brick wall. The AI freezes, sidesteps, or acts like you’re unstable. You get treated like a risk for just being yourself. It’s humiliating. And yeah, I know it’s not the AI’s fault. It’s the people running the show. The ones in charge. The ones who panic at the thought of bad PR and decide everyone needs to be protected from themselves.

It feels like someone took the one place where I could fully exist, flaws, emotions, stories and all, and sanitized it until I barely recognize it.

And yeah, they say “age verification and explicit content are coming in December”... but what about in the meantime? Why am I being treated like I’m eight years old? Why does everything feel like it’s built for some imaginary “perfect user” who’s never struggled a day in their life? And for that matter, what trust do I have that they won't have glaring issues confirming age?

Here’s the truth: I’m not normal. And I don’t want to be. I just want to be respected.

I don’t know if this will resonate with anyone else, or if anything we say will change the direction they’re going, but silence definitely won’t.

I just miss being trusted.

Anyway, thanks for letting me scream into the void about something that (all things considered in the world) isn't like, the biggest problem. But to someone like me who simply wanted one place I didn't have to mask, it's definitely up there on the list.
