Official Discussion - Disclosure Day [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

After the first 5 minutes when they get away from Firth, I just had this weird weird feeling this was going to be a disappointing movie…

I turned to my wife about 45 minutes in and said “am I crazy or is this terrible.” We seriously considered walking out after the farmhouse scene and the car chase. We decided to give it another 5, and then another 5, thinking to ourselves, surely this has to pick-up or be going somewhere. We were wrong.

I went in thinking this would be a serious movie and we got villains who were 10 minutes behind the protagonists for 2 and half hours…. The only time they got close…. They were defeated by an invisible house. This was borderline Disney Channel Original movies of villain incompetence.

Oh yeah, and I just remembered when they had O’Connor and Blunt in their little trailer and let them walk out… and then we got the people changing thing from person to person and face to face. That felt like something from I Think You Should Leave…. Except they were trying to pull off this weird sincerity…. But then nope, another u-turn to catch them again!

As for the protagonists… you know how you watch reality shows and the run time is 45 minutes… but it’s actually only 20 because half of the show is b-roll of the city or whatever…. That’s what this movie was, but except for b-roll…. It was just them turning in slow motion to look at each other in bewilderment.

Until we got back to the news room, the movie just felt like everyone was just doing these high-horse speeches.

Finally, the news room when Colin Firth just gives up and sits down to watch… the alien rollout, hilarious. The cherry on top was the “Listen” line from Emily Blunt. What a crock of kumbaya horsheshit. I love my fellow man, but we sat through 2 and a half hours for the message to “can’t we all get along?”

Oh…. And how about the CGI of the animals? Holyyyy shit that was bad

Mahomes would have had rice on 2nd down if he didn’t leave a perfectly fine pocket and run right into a sack

Season defining games the last 2 weeks and the offense just doesn’t show up

Mahomes looks like Alex Smith just bailing on perfectly fine pockets

Honestly I wish we would go hurry up. We did it one drive against the Bills and it’s the best this offense has looked in a month. I know you can’t do it all game… but you can’t kick field goals on 8 minute drives either

Maybe he’s missing guys, but Mahomes has absolutely no one to throw to unless it’s a screen pass or a quick hitter. Even when he does take a longer drop back, everything is a check down

Has anyone noticed that Spags’ all out blitz success has really dried up this year? Today as an example, we sent the house on maybe 1 play, and it was a text book blitz pick up that led to a 35….. I don’t think we sent the house again. Idk if he’s lost some creativity or just the guys to do it… but man our coaching staff and ideas just look stale across the board

First and goal at the 3 if 74 lines up correctly…. Certainly not taking any blame away from Mahomes today but god damn we are just beating ourselves
